Having used many various tools throughout my long life, you just know when you pick up a tool whether it's well made, or not. This tool is well made. It's very easy to setup and use. Only drawback is I needed 1" longer legs to get deeper into a lens. I looked, looked, looked some more, and could not find them. Good news is the legs are made of standard 5mm steel tubing. That is available on Amazon in 1' foot lengths. It will take you some work to find it, though. When you go looking, you'll see what I mean. I then manufactured my own longer 3 1/2" legs cut and ground exactly like the ones the tool comes with. I'd attach a picture of my efforts, but any machinist would laugh at me. Sorry, they may not look all that finished, but they did the job. So, Fotga, manufacture and offer some different options for add on purchases of different styles and lengths of legs. Oh, and make them as "pretty" as the ones the tool comes with.

I've only used this a couple of times, but as soon as I got it out of the box I was surprised to see that the entire thing is made out of metal - metal rods, a nice steel thread, brash bushings, metal jaws, and a good quality metal thumbscrew.I was expecting half of it to be plastic, but it has a REALLY nice heft in the hand and the jaw just glides up and down the thread. If you flick the thumbscrew handle then you'll get four or five revolutions out of it before it stops spinning.Really nice piece of equipment that I would have expected to pay twice what I did for it.

just take your time with it and make sure the threads fit in the existing ones. it tool me about 15 mins to work the bent metal of my vintage lens.I also appreciate the additional lens opener bits included in the pack.

IIn my life, I've collected a number of camera types, right now, I seem to have a fixation on smaller format films like 110 film camera and lenses. Collecting vintage pieces means that I need tools sometimes to open things up and clean them, especially lenses. Well, I have some cheap tools, and they work okay but this lens wrnech looked like something I could use. This wrench has a center piece for three legs that works much more efficiently and better than the type with only two legs. Those types can twist and then loosen up, this one does not have that problem. Could also help with releasing stuck filters on filter rings (those that are only slightly out of round or misshapen. All in all, I wish I had gottne one of these type earlier, could have savedme a bunch of time and some money.

Maybe the bits had shoulders on them initially, and maybe they fit solidly initially, but that is not the case now. Don't waste your money and/or time on this "tool".........it's a complete pain to set up and use.

I like to purchase used camera equipment. However, it is always risky because you never know what may need fixed. This camera tool kit covers most of the denting or “stuck” filter problems you may run into with lenses and filters. First, the vice has both the inner and outer circular holders for getting out slight dents. There are also three sets of spanners (one pointed set, one flat set, and one half flat set) for un-jamming stuck filters. This tool is well made. It is a good value and will save you money by not going to a camera shop. Five stars.
