I'm using this collar for my Sigma 400mm lens. I shopped around for a collar and found most in the $50-$60 range. This was $26 and made of metal. It's function is simple so why spend double for something more expensive that does exactly the same thing?

This is exactly what I needed for my Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 lense. As the lense is a little heavy to mount my camera to a tripod, this collar helps me mount it from the lense and that way it removes stress from the mount. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to mount their lense on a tripod or even for every day use. I don't see my self ever removing the collar as its great for hand held shots. It's pretty firm and feels solid once it's mounted on the lense. Love the way it feels as I feel comfortable carrying it from the collar. It is always better to be safe than sorry and would still have a second carrying strap for security. It's easy to install as you only have to line up a white line on the collar to the white line on your lense. Great value for the money!! Fits pretty good, just make sure you tightly secure it. Great performance when on the tripod.

I bought this as a means to secure the Tamron 35-150 f2/2.8 lens to my Nikon Z6 as it dropped off the camera twice leading to expensive repairs to the lens. The collar fits over the camera end of the ends behind the zoom ring. The collar needs to be mounted a few mm away from the zoom ring so as not to interfere with it. I then secure the foot of the collar to a camera strap instead of to the lens body. I would recommend an extra safety tether from the body to the foot of the collar to cater for the case where you are holding the camera without the strap. Well made, good quality collar. I don't think we can guarantee 100% the lens wont drop off again but if you have a 35-150, I would suggest adding this extra protection. Its a common issue with longer and heavier lenses and the 35-150 is heavy. On top of that, the lens release button is not exact hard to depress. I never had issues with other lenses including the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 so not sure why it happened with the Tamron. Hope this helps other owners of the lens.

Good performance, just not a fan of the texture. It seems like they were going for this waterdrop texture but to me it just looks like an amateurs was in charge of the paint work.

This functions well enough. It fits onto my Canon 100-400 lens fairly securely, but I worry about the longevity of the rubber which holds the lens. I find locking the ring in place easy enough on most days, but I would have found a knob with a wing bolt over a hex bolt style head to be easier to manipulate -- especially if you have gloves. The surface of this mount also has some strange texture on it that suggests something may have gone wrong when spraying on a treatment. That isn't a big deal for now as I haven't seem any pealing or cracking. For the price, I'm relatively happy with the collar.

I bought this for my tamron 35-150 since it's a hefty lens that really pulls on the mount of my a7iii. I'll start with the positives. Well, it works. It does clamp onto the Tamron as advertised and it does shift the mounting point closer to the center of gravity. Now the downsides. It can and likely will scuff up your lens finish eventually. It's been 2 months of use and I'm starting to see some small scratches on my lens where this is clamped. It also takes quite a concerning amount of tightening to get this to not slide on the lens. If they had put more rubber, that probably wouldn't be a problem. Finally, the mount itself slowly gets worse. I don't know what's going on with it, but it definitely clamped better when I first received it. Nowadays, if I point my camera towards the ground while it's mounted to a tripod with this, there's a high likelihood of my lens just slipping through this due to gravity.

This FOTGA tripod collar fits my Tamron 100-400 well. Build quality is good. Holds the lens tightly and can be easily loosened to rotate the camera/lens. The only thing lacking were markings to help align the lens - which is easily remedied with a paint marker.

I took a chance on this FOTGA (JLwin) Tripod Lens Collar for the Sigma 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS lens (for E and L mount) not know what to expect. I will say I’m very happy with my purchase. The official Sigma tripod lens collar (Sigma TS-111) sells for $130. This tripod lens collar was less than $30. That’s a $100 saving!! But is that $100 saving worth it, heck yeah it was! This tripod lens collar is well made and feels great when attached to the lens. It allows the lens to feel balance. I have the Sony 200-600mm lens so I’m used to holding a lens with a tripod lens collar. And now I can use my Sigma 100-400mm lens in the similar manner as my Sony lens. The tripod lens collar wasn’t too hard to put on but it was a snug fit. There’s foam around the inside of collar that attached to the lens. Due to the foam, it can be hard to rotate the lens if you’re into that. I never use that feature so I prefer a tight lockup with no play. The top of the collar has a cross that allows you to line it up with the Sigma lens. The bottom is ARCA swiss compatible and there are 3/8" and 1/4" holes drilled into the bottom as well. I wish this tripod lens collar had an attachment loop/slot for a camera strap. I was able to attach a Peak Design Anchor Mount to one of the 1/4" holes to allow me to use my Peak Design camera strap.Note, I have a Vine Voice title next to my name but I did not get this product for free. I bought and paid for this item with my own money. I rely on real reviews such as this one to help me make buying decision, so I hope my honest review helps others as well.
