I am amazed how nice the finish this paint gives. Durable and lasts.

I was debating on whether or not to purchase a new fireplace surround (the metal part surrounding the opening). It had really seen better days. Well, I sanded it down and applied this paint and no one believes that it is not a brand new surround. Looks terrific. Easy to do. Going to try to spruce up my grill next, cuz why not?

While updating my living room, I had thought about replacing my fireplace insert. After doing some research, I decided on painting the surround and chose this paint for the task. Though it is expensive, the finished product came out perfect! It took a light sanding, a good cleaning, and about a can and a half of paint.

Follow instructions well and your project will turn out well. I had no issues with the paint application. Paint adhered well with the prepped surface. I had a question pre-application and Forest Technical Coatings customer service was very helpful. I cannot rate its heat resistance and durability as I have only had the product on for 3 weeks at this point. Will come back later and amend my review after 6 months.

This paint looks great. It’s pricy though and I’m kinda wishing I had just painted it with high heat Rustoleum paint that’s rated up to 2000 degrees and goes for about $8.50 a can. It does look good though. My advice to anyone using it though is to check their webpage on how to cure it. I was unaware that even after it drying for a few days that it would smoke and give off a rather unpleasant chemical type odor. Also make sure you slowly increase the temperature over the first few burns. My first burn went fine but it was a small one. The second was larger and that’s when I had smoking and bad odor. I also noticed in some of the hottest areas that some paint had flakes off from later paint coats. My third burn had less smoke but still had some and still a faint odor. Just make sure to have the area well ventilated the first few times otherwise you’re house will stink for about a day and your smoke detectors will go off like mine.

Both cans sputter constantly making a smooth finish impossible and coverage very difficult.Have had this product before and it worked perfectly but something is defective in both cans I ordered through this seller.Recommend ordering from a different source.
