I purchased this opener after my second OXO opener died. We put a very heavy demand on our openers, so they are all going to have a limited lifespan. We get 2 to 3 years out of the OXO vs the 1 year we got from all of the other lever pull openers I had tried.Like the OXO this one had a fulcrum mechanism, in line with the cork. It looked more streamline than the OXO so I had very high hopes for the opener and expected a similar lifespan (hoped for better). Unfortunately, it feels cheaply made and requires a LOT more force to open bottles, especially for synthetic corks. Not nearly as smooth as the OXO either. Oh well.... I guess you get what you pay for.One item of note. The foil cutter is hands down the best I have ever encountered!

As a bartender I will never go back to using a regular wine tool again. It is a bit bigger than your average portable wine tool but it still fits in my apron and it makes opening wine much easier and faster.

I previously owned a rabbit-style opener and it was a struggle. This one not only smoothly removes the cork from the bottle, but also pops it off the corkscrew easily. The wine cutter is the best!

Liked everything about this wine bottle opener. Should have bought one years ago. Strongly recommend this, you won't regret it.

The wine opener is excellent - much better than rabbit style openers. It has some sort of ball bearing ratchet that makes it easy to pull those very hard plastic corks that many wineries are using. The foil cutter serves as an attractive base upon which the opener perches, and that's fine. But don't expect it to cut foil. It's worthless at that.

I love this wine opener! It removes the corks easier than any opener I’ve ever had, and the ability to eject the cork from the spiral is an added bonus

This opener is very easy to use and appears to be a better design and quality than the previous version. The copper/ black is a great color. We had the previous version and after a few years it was failing to remove corks. We contacted Forge and got a full refund. Since Forge treated us very well we waited more than a few months to buy from them rather than from another company.
