The tensioner was an actual Motorcraft part, but it was placed in a box with no packing or cushion at all. When I received it, the inside of the box was all beat up and the pulley felt like it had excessive play in it. The play was more than what the worn pulley had. I thought it was because of the part banging around in the box during shipping. I was reluctant to install the tensioner, I didn’t feel good about it, but it was too much hassle to return it. So far (1month) I’m satisfied with the performance of the tensioner as I no longer hear the noise that I suspected was coming from the factory original tensioner.

Installed and operates like oem part, but definitely different from original part. Must be updated part for (my 2005) Duratec 2.0L engine.
