My Ford Fusion 2010 had reverse indicator stopped working and I started hearing a buzzing sound before it said to check it. I was going to bring it in to the dealer but I decided to do some googling and found that the speaker was broken. Replacement was relatively simple, even for me who never worked on cars prior. If youre having trouble with your reverse parking indicator, check if this solves your problem

Fit perfectly, looks like OEM Ford, it is located on drivers side (LH) of the vehicle under the dash. Remove the side panel and knee panel to access area. Way up in the dash area to the left of the steering column and toward the windscreen (windshield). Held on by sticker on back and then plug and play. Recommended

Quick summary: The replacement speaker works well. My system fault (caused by the original speaker) went away. This is not a speaker for listening to the stereo, so if it works, that's all it needs to do, and that's why it deserves five stars.I have a 2010 Milan with the Sony speakers. My old speaker died a slow death. It had an awful screeching sound for several weeks, then no sound at all. At that point, my dashboard displayed "cross traffic system fault." At first, I could restart my car to get rid of the fault, but that would not get rid of it after some time.I read about taking out the seat to access the speaker, but did not want to do that. I found several sites that said one could go in from the top, so that's what I did. The speaker is on the driver's side and the stereo speaker in the back has to be removed to access this speaker. The speaker grill is made of plastic and has tabs down the sides. I used a long, thin flat screwdriver to pop it out. You may not get it back on perfectly when you are done. If that's important to you, then you may want to remove the seat instead. You can also try double-sided tape to hold it in place after you are done. After removing the grill, I removed the stereo speaker. I used a 7mm socket wrench. The backup speaker is to the right (toward the outside of the car) under the deck.I went into the trunk and pushed out the push pins to remove the backup speaker. (See the pictures, all courtesy of supermonkey11.)After removing the backup speaker from its moorings, remove the wire connector with a small flat screwdriver. The wire side is the male side. There is a slot where the connector shows through the female side on the speaker. That's what you push on. It came out easily. (See picture of the speaker.)This speaker comes with tape. I found that easier to use than using the push pins again. I would use double-sided tape if it did not come with it. Save the pins for something else. The stereo speaker went back in rather easily, then the grill, which is not perfect, but again, I did not have to remove any seats. If I had these instructions from the start, I think I would have done this job in less than half an hour.

Speaker works great. This was not an easy change out on my truck. Hard to reach and get old one off. The new one went on fairly easy.

OH ... MY ... GOSH! Easiest and cheapest fault light repair EVER. I purchased this for my wife's 2012 Ford Fusion that had started throwing an error code on the back-up assist. After reading some blogs I decided this little speaker could be the culprit. I didn't even remove all of the interior post covers like is recommended ... just popped the seat down ... loosened the back deck cover so I could slide a stubby screwdriver in to get to the two screws ... swapped it out ... PRESTO! This repair literally took me less than 20 minutes and I saved several hundred dollars from taking it to a shop. This is an exact OEM replacement ... snapped right in with factory wiring ... PERFECT!!!!!!!
