Great remote control, great price. Incredibly easy to set up and pair with the TV I bought it for. The instructions stated to put batteries in and it would automatically pair with the TV. I was skeptical, but it was as easy as the instructions stated. Make sure you look at the model of your TV before purchasing.

The buttons are very stiff, especially the wheel. The controller is easy to set up and motion controls feel good. But using the wheel is tough compared to the actual remote that came with the tv originally.

The magic remote is somewhat "the same" one I got with my TV. When that one started to break apart within the control wheel I decided to get a backup unit. I switched to the new remote and lost some functionality that I had with the original... Set-top cable box and soundbar to be specific. After a couple of weeks of trying to sync these two units with both remotes, I've done my fair share of deep-diving owner manuals to solve the mystery of getting universal control with the magic remote. Bottom line... I would have expected the smart TV magic remote to easily step into the same role as the previous one. Be ready to reconfigure your external boxes to relearn the basic IR commands. On the positive side, it does all the functions with the TV, with little effort.

I bought this remote because my Sony XR-55A80L has no convenient way to control it without an IR remote. (You can install a Google TV app on your phone but it only works AFTER the TV is on). The Sony factory remote was incredibly poor, so my plan to buy a second one of those died quickly. This one adds the numeric keys you will want if you watch many OTA broadcasts. It also brings up a menu of functions such as sleep timer that do not seem to be accessible thru the factory remote. All in all, I would say this remote is "average" in its operation for issues like having to point it at the TV and the effectiveness of some buttons. However, I gave it 5 stars because it provides essential functionality that's conspicuous by its absence from the lame factory remote.
