Our water is very very hard, so I use citric acid a lot for descaling, adjusting pH, and rinsing my hair occasionally to help remove some of the mineral buildup. This is a really generous amount at a great price. My only issue was with the packaging; it had broken slightly, so there were citric acid granules all over the shipping box, but there wasn't enough product loss to really make a difference - just a bit of a mess on the kitchen floor to sweep up. So check carefully to save yourself some sweeping!

Arizona Kitchen Supply Food Grade Citric Acid is a multi-purpose product that can be used in cooking, baking, and cleaning. The resealable bag holds 2 pounds of citric acid that looks like table salt. I was surprised that the manufacturer did not include a recipe using the citric acid as a cleaning agent on the back of the bag. Fortunately, I found a recipe online with the measurements for water and citric acid. It dissolved effortlessly in hot water and helped me clean not only my coffee maker but also a hot water pot. There are 226 servings in one bag with each 1/4 teaspoon serving containing 5 Calories. The sole ingredient is citric acid. The only surprise that I had from the product was the size of bag that held the citric acid. The manufacturers used a noticeably large bag and when I received it, I had initially thought that the bag had leaked or was damaged as it only appeared to be a quarter full. Once I weighed it, I confirmed that the bag was full and met its advertised weight. The manufacturer stated that the product was packed in a facility that processes wheat, soy, and tree nuts. If you intend to cook with this product and you have food allergies to any of the food products listed, please be aware. It was Packaged in the USA. The product that I received has a best by date of 11 months from the date that I received it. This is a product that will help when it comes to cleaning in our home.

I use citric acid for a number of purposes. I make bath bombs with it, I use it to descale my humidifiers and distillers, and I use it for cleaning sinks and toilets. This is good quality citric acid, and the price is a really good buy. My only complaint is that the package that it comes in leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the product was loose in the Box when it arrived because the seal had let loose on one side of the pouch and there was a small hole. I taped that up, but then after opening and closing the pouch a couple of times, it would no longer reseal.

Bag arrived with a bad seal on the side of it. It had about a 10 millimeter spot where the 2 halves of the bag were not sealed. Granules leaked out all over inside the box. I would guess that I lost about half of the product. What is left of the product seems to be of a decent quality.

I love this large bag of citric acid. This is my favourite cleaner for descaling kettles, faucets, shower heads, and thermoses. It is a seamless descaling experience with no scent (unlike when using White Vinegar to descale). It is also AMAZING at scrubbing a toilet bowl spotless without any scrubbing. Just spritz with water, shake citric acid everywhere, and wait. So cool. Alsobgreat for cleaning sinks, and even unclogging drains! Would buy again. This has been working all the cleaning miracles. WEAR GLOVES.

This citric acid powder has many uses, but in my house, it most often serves to remove hard water buildup from the various small appliances in my kitchen. It works great on my steamer, coffee pot, and ice maker, just to name a few. I definitely prefer this over vinegar for descaling, because the citric acid solution doesn't have the harsh smell that vinegar does. When finished, the solution rinses away easily and cleanly. The 2lb bag is a solid value, and I like that it has a convenient resealable top. All in all, good quality, and recommended without hesitation.

This food grade Vit C can be added to home made bread to improve rise (esp. sourdough), softness, enhance flavor, and as a natural preservative to extend shelf life on the counter.Other uses around the house and kitchen include removing stains and scale from the dishwasher (run a hot load without soap, just the Citric Acid Powder). A tablespoon added to the toilet tank and flushed the next morning once a week can help reduce scale staining in the tank and bowl, just remember that you need to remove any toilet cleaners first, and start with just plain water. I also use this to de-scale my coffee maker and one of my warm mist humidifiers (The heating element is exposed and I can soak it in a water/C solution for 15 minutes to loosen scale buildup for easy removal. It does a great job on a moist sponge getting the grime, and discoloration from oxidation off the kitchen sink.It can be used to make a home made cleaner for removing tarnish from fancy silver ware. I would not use it on jewelry. Stick with dedicated products for that.***Please be aware that there are many cleaning products that this should NOT be mixed with. ***The product comes in a resealable bag, and is at a good price point. I usually pay the same for about 3 oz in a plastic bottle for bread recipes. It's a good price for the amount and quality received.

Had to transfer everything to a Mason jar after the zipper broke on day one, which was pretty annoying. From the little that I could salvage the citric acid is… ok, I guess. It does the job, but nothing about it stands out. Between the day one incident and the somewhat concerning allergen notice, I don’t think I’d buy this one again.
