I have a few pairs of trauma shears, a set in each first aid kit in each car. These ones are far heavier duty than the rest. I was a bit wary of how stable a pair of folding shears could be but my wariness was unwarranted. These seem rock solid in use. I was also wondering if they could be deployed using just one hand. I'm happy to say that they can. It does take a but of fiddling and practice but it's possible once you're used to it. Not so for putting them away though. That absolutely requires two hands. The locks that keep things stable also need a bit of force to unlock.The holster is also very secure. I was unable to dislodge the shears from the holster even when shaking it upside down. The shears also have their own built-in clip if you prefer to go that route and clip them straight to your gear or a bag handle like I do.The seat belt cutter is functional but I feel like it's faster in my case to just use my pocket knife like I always have. The wire cutter is nice though. Same for the window punch. Sometimes you need that window gone _now_ and this handles that with ease.Overall, I'm quite happy with them.

SHEARS:I was expecting a slightly upgraded set of medical shears. I've had many sets of medical shears in the past, but am realizing that they were cheap toys. At least compared to these.I was shocked at the weight, which is easily three times what my older shears weighed. But it really is worth the weight. The are solid enough to survive a three-story drop, provide substantial leverage, are heavy-duty steel, and seriously sharp. I would not trust my old shears against thick leather or military webbing, or, frankly, lots of fabrics. These I trust to vaporize any normal material standing between me and access to a wound needing care, and to do it really, really fast.I love how compact these fold. In spite of their extra weight, they take up about the same amount of space in my medical kit, and are certainly a bit shorter than non-folding shears. And the folding mechanisms are the same high quality as everything else.HOLSTER:They come with a holster for mounting them to a belt or gear strap. That holster is hilariously bulky and huge, but if you're somebody who is likely to need these in tactical situations, you probably won't care: they hold the shears proud of the body, incredibly firmly attached to the holster, and yet profoundly easy to grab and remove one-handed, and flexibly positionable to an absolute degree.The holster is designed to carry the shears in either their folded or unfolded configuration. The folded configuration is more compact and feels more secure, but you would have to spend a couple of seconds using both hands unfolding the shears. They can also be inserted into the holster ready for use, and while seemingly vastly more likely to snag on something and get pulled out of the holster in that configuration, they can be quick-drawn and used one-handed with a firm tug, ideal for tactical medical situations.The holster's connection to the belt is NOT going to come off accidentally, though a severe blow could be enough to break the plastic belt clip, depending on the type of plastic (which I was not able to ascertain).And the orientation of the holster to the belt clip is adjustable 360 degrees, and even reversible front-to-back for mounting for right-or-left-handed use. Wherever you choose to mount it, then, you can orient it in exactly the best position for a perfect one-handed quick-draw and instant use.Seriously high-quality tactical and emergency medical shears.

Quality: The construction of these shears is excellent, while polymer, they can hold up to intense stress. The blades are incredibly sharp and I feel as though I could cut through nearly any soft material with them.Functionality: Using the holster, I placed these on my plate carrier. They've honestly leveled up my IFAC and helped me to stay far more prepared. The price point for this product is excellent and they function exactly as pictured.Overall: Due to their lightweight yet resilient design, I would highly suggest these for any IFAC or EDC rig.

good scissors/shears. they are nice and compact. the only gripe i have is they are a bit tight with no real easy way to loosen them up.

When I ordered these, I did not read the description well so the fact that they are folding shears was a surprise to me. But I love it. These things are built for use. Sharp! With great leverage on the squeeze. Shot through denim seams like butter. The holster has a great positive snap to the shears and the belt/strap attachment is easy to use and makes a very strong hold on whatever you are attaching to. The shears folding locks are easy to locate but they are not in the way so to accidentally trigger in use. Nice design detail there. Including the ruler on the shear blade is a nice touch for gauging sizes. The ring shank blade is sturdy as can be and pretty easy to index. The strap hook is sharp and folds out of the way so it’s not getting caught on anything accidentally. It’s flexible enough so that you can safely use the hook from a couple different positions on the shears depending on your direction of leverage. All in all, a great addition to a field kit.

These shears are really quite nice. Bigger, thicker, heavier than I ever imagined they would be, and mostly in a good way! The little fold out hook is VERY sharp and will work well. The folding action of the scissors is smooth and straight forward. The shears cut paper, cardboard, and fabric very well, and I am planning to try them with leather as well. It comes with a good quality orange plastic sheath, which is great, but the only thing I don't care for about these shears is the way they sit in the sheath so that all the weight is on the top. The light plastic handle portion slides into the sheath leaving the bulk of the heavy steal sitting atop the sheath. Not an ideal design, but I'm sure it won't cause me any problems. Overall, pretty great shears.
