These things are solid. They are machined out of metal and feel hefty in the hand. The latch moves freely and feels kind of loose at first, but it has a magnet in it that will help it latch to the mounting screw once mounted. Overall it is really well made and sturdy. Only down side is I wish I didn't have to screw holes in my wall to make it work. An adhesive option would have been great, but then the arm wouldn't latch because it needs the screw for the magnet to work.
