This 24x16" diatomaceous soft-stone drying mat is a great size for all my drying dishes and looks really pretty and modern on the counter (especially white counters). It soaks up any water immediately and is easy to clean. I don't ever roll mine up, I just leave it by the sink permanently because we nearly always have stuff on it and it actually looks nice (the mat, not the stuff lol). Whenever it gets stained beyond what water & my kitchen sponge can get off I use a maroon 3M pad + some bleach cleaning spray (rinse well after) and it looks absolutely new afterwards. When I took mine out of the box it didn't fully lay flat - some of the planks were uneven. But after a couple days it's completely flat now. I HIGHLY recommend this! It would make a great gift, too.

So I got this better because it was better looking than my cherry cloth print one. It rolls up so the backing is on this plasticky type material. It also has a bit more steaming than I anticipated just even from water spots. I thought it would be staining more so from other items getting on it. But there are a few brown spots developing from it being near our countertop ice maker and having the occasional ice nugget fall on it. It does dry very fast and looks wise is more conducive to a cleaner looking kitchen. It comes with an anti-slip mat which I appreciated. It is roughly the same size as the previous drying mat that I had, so there are no surprises as far as it being too big or too small. It seems about average.

I thought the white would be bright in my kitchen. Unfortunately, it stains easily and the brush does not help. I cannot even figure out where the stains are coming from. It is large so I keep in folded in half. I ordered this so I can take the dishes out of the dishwasher right after they finish to dry quicker. It works very well for that. If you need a drying mat and like the stone type, this is good for that. As I said, I don't like that it keeps picking up stains. Therefore, the number of stars.

This drying mat does work as advertised for utensils and other small items. It absorbs small amounts of water very nicely and is easy to clean and maintain. It does not work well for items such as pots and pans that may hold water when removing them from the sink. Pots, and especially larger pots, that have just been washed always have water some water left on the inside. 'When flipped over onto the mat, the water is not absorbed very quickly and falls between the mat slots, drips out onto the counter and defeats the purpose of the mat.

Pros: The stone mat is perfect for my kitchen. It said it was a white mat, however, it is a off white, which matches great with my kitchen. It dries up the water very well and it blends in with my counter tops, so I have my dish drying mat, without the eyesore. The cracks were one of concerns. I thought the water would run through and fall on my wooden floors or counters, however, it hasn't happened. The water beads up, but it dries up before its too much. The size is perfect too. It holds several pots at the same time and like I said it dries up quickly. It even hold my xxl cookie sheets, so I was very happy because most drying mats are on the smaller side. Even my husband loved it and said he was pleased on how it looks (he doesn't really care about stuff like this, so it was a shock to hear a compliment)Cons; I read the instructions on how to keep my mat nice and clean. And I do my very best to wash my dishes thoroughly, especially with coffee or tomatoes, anything that might stain, however, I still had some stains on my mat. I tried to sand them down like the instructions said, however, they don't seem to go away. They are minor stains and I'm not sure what it was from, but just keep that in mind if that is a deal breaker.

It says stone, but it's made from crushed seashells. I've had it for almost a week now and it works just as described - super absorbant, and dries in minutes! Plus it looks amazing on the counter next to the sink, adds a nice touch of decor.Just, don't do what I do, lol. When I opened the box, I saw a plastic film on one side and thought it must've been part of the packaging, almost took it off, but didn't even get the corner fully lifted off by the time I realized that was what holds it all together and gives it the ability to roll up like it does. Had to laugh at myself for that one. Definitely put the plastic side down.

Very happy with this! I've never used this kind of mat before, and previously I was using a rectangle of linen that looked nice but sometimes took a long time to dry. When it arrived, I was a bit skeptical, because there are a few things that seemed like problems. First, it wouldn't lie flat. The slats are connected on the back with a strip of thick plastic, and they were sort of "bumpy" in a way that was pretty unattractive (see photo). However, it was very cold outside, so I thought the plastic might relax inside the warm house. And... it didn't. But something else worked: after a day or two I put my heavy two-liter pyrex bowl on the slats that were sticking up, and after a few hours they flattened out nicely and stayed that way. I've attached before and after photos. The second thing I was concerned about was that there seemed to be some areas of discoloration on it (see photo). However, the instructions mentioned this and said to just wipe it with a damp cloth, and this worked unexpectedly well. Now it lies flat, looks great, and absorbs well. One other thing I didn't expect was that water looks almost brown on it until it dries. But once it is dry, it goes back to white.I also like how neat it looks in my white kitchen, unlike my wrinkly linen mat. We'll see how I feel after I've used it for a few months, but for now I'm pretty pleased and optimistic about it. It also comes with a stiff-bristled brush and some sandpaper for cleaning, though I haven't needed to use them yet.
