There are a few chips off the blade. Not sure if a sharpener would help, not that I have one. I need it now so I don't have time to return and reorder. Had a rubber blade cover and a nice hanging bag cover for it.

I like my cutting tools shaving sharp, this is somewhat dull. However it looks to be solid enough to split some firewood, maybe not hardwood. It is however good for the price point.

I had to return the first Axe I bought from another seller because I was concerned that the axehead cover would not adequately protective. Do I bought this one and it's a keeper!

The blade dulled after splitting 2 pieces of firewood into kindling! Very soft steel IMHO!
