Fluval Bug Bites is a complete fish food that features a unique insect-based formulation, enriched with multiple quality proteins and carbohydrates that are ideal for bottom feeders. This formula incorporates a healthy mix of animal proteins, vegetables and fiber, which is ideal for all types of plecos and ancistrus. Insects are hunted by fish in the wild as they offer a widely available food source. The instinctive feeding habit is the foundation behind Bug Bites, which are formulated with nutrient-rich insect larvae and enriched with multiple quality proteins, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Most freshwater fish are omnivores and regularly feed on insects in the wild. However, not all insects are created equally when it comes to a fish’s diet. Bug Bites are formulated with sustainably harvested Black Soldier Fly Larvae (#1 ingredient across all formulas), which are raised on fruits and vegetables for exceptional “super food” nutrition. Using a unique cultivation process, BSFL are grown under controlled conditions for total sustainability that preserves natural environments. Under controlled conditions, Black Soldier Flies produce larvae, which naturally feed on decaying organic matter. Unconsumed fruits and vegetables are used as larvae feed. The larvae consume the feed, converting the nutrients into protein and healthy fat. After a 2-week feeding cycle, the larvae are harvested and dried. The dried larvae are mixed with other high-quality proteins, vitamins, minerals and trace elements to offer a complete and balanced daily diet. In addition to BSFL, Bug Bites offer other excellent protein sources such as Herring & Shrimp Meal, which are also rich in Omega-3 for healthy skin, scales, fins and colors. I have a couple corys and they seem to really like these. I’m glad I found a food they enjoy although they aren’t the pickiest of eaters. They can't wait to find these but watching them it looks like they would prefer them to be a bit softer but maybe it's perfect for them!

All of my corydoras and kuhli coaches love these. Some of my tetras will eat this product. It doesn't cloud the water up either.

Bug bites bottom feeders: my spotted Raphael loves these! The only time I see him out of his cave is for bug bites or hikari sinking carnivore pellets, (he doesn’t even come out of his cave for bloodworms or brine shrimp!). My kuhli loaches, pepper cories, and hoplisoma pandas all love bug bites too. However they seem to prefer the tropical variety, the smaller granules, which makes sense with them being smaller fish, easier to fit in their mouth. I’m sure if the bottom feeder granules had time to sit in the water and soften up, my smaller fish would go for them, but the spotted Raphael usually inhales all the bottom feeder granules as soon as they hit the bottom.This food doesn’t cloud up my water or leave a mess, but then again, it doesn’t have the chance to, gets eaten up real quick.From my experience in feeding these, they do sink pretty quick (which is what I wanted).

All the babies love and go crazy for the bug bites. This is my 2nd purchase and I will keep buying it.These granular bits may float for a very short while if they are the smaller bits before sinking. The ingredients are are good for nutritional health and have no funny colors.Between my 2 aquariums (I've been fish keeping for more than 20 years) the one container lasted longer than I expected with several feedings of my rainbow, angel, killi, tetras, Cory's, dwarf frogs, snails and a beta fish. I wasn't expecting this 1.6 Oz bottle to last this long. It did last and it was an excellent price considering I ran out of a different brand of fish food that was cheaper for a jar 2½ times the size of this fluval jar.You won't need to feed your fish a lot of this bottom feeder food since it is actually made of food & not fillers.I really like the Fluval brand overall and have recently started adding their fish foods to my mix of other foods I keep on rotation for my fish babies.

We had a couple batches of unexpected cory catfish fry and this is what I ordered for them to eat. I now use it in all tanks. The Cory LOVE it and it doesn't contaminate the tank.

Considering the cost, this food seems to be what my fish crave. And, it is eaten right away so there is no chance for it to cloud the water. It seems to be a healthy alternative to flake food.

Très bon produit !Mes cory se régalent à chaque fois. Les granules sont bien conçues avec des ingrédients de qualité.En complément des gaufrettes, c’est le combo gagnant pour mes 6 cory ! Et côté quantité, il y a de quoi tenir un moment – c'est probablement le produit pour aquariophile avec le meilleur rapport qualité-prix, surtout si vous voulez offrir un alimentation diversifiée à vos poissons.

My smaller bottom feeders absolutely go nuts when I feed this. My albino Golden Dojo Loach especially love it! I would highly recommend any Fluval® Bug Bites™ products!
