I ordered this months ago and waited to set up my kids Betta tank for Xmas. And I opened the package and it smelled like chemical paint. I do not recommend. Highly doubt it would be safe for kids or animals. I rinsed about 10x smells still.

Muy bueno y bonito el grano, el color es sólido y aunque los bettas no suelen buscar en piso se ve que no lastimará las aletas de mis peces.

I received and rinsed as directed… after noticing a strong chemical paint like smell, I rinsed several more times. Thinking nothing of it, I replaced my other substrate… after one day, I noticed my betta and one of my snails on the bottom of the tank. The other betta began to show signs of getting sick as well so i immediately removed the fish. I will be disposing of the product… buyer beware!

Love it and it really adds contrast to the style of my aquarium. If u want dark volcanic looking soil this is it.

Was looking for a chunky gravel for plant propagations but it’s definitely sand and kinda hard to work with. Definitely better for a fish tank

I recently decided to upgrade my betta fish tank setup, and after some research, I came across the Betta Fish Sand Substrate. Let me tell you, this product exceeded all my expectations, and my betta fish are loving it!First and foremost, the sand substrate is of exceptional quality. It is finely granulated, providing a smooth and comfortable surface for my betta fish to explore and rest on. Unlike gravel or rougher substrates, this sand is gentle on their delicate fins, ensuring a stress-free environment. The natural appearance of the sand is another highlight. It beautifully replicates the soft, sandy bottoms found in betta fish natural habitats, creating a visually appealing and authentic aquatic setting. The sand's neutral color also enhances the vibrant colors of my betta fish, making them truly stand out in the tank. One of the greatest advantages of this substrate is its easy maintenance. The sand is easily sifted and cleaned, preventing debris from accumulating and keeping the tank water pristine. It doesn't cloud the water like some other substrates, ensuring a clear and healthy environment for my fish.Additionally, the sand substrate promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria, which aids in maintaining a stable and balanced aquarium ecosystem. This has had a positive impact on the overall water quality, contributing to the health and vitality of my betta fish.In conclusion, I cannot recommend the Betta Fish Sand Substrate highly enough. It offers a perfect combination of aesthetics, functionality, and ease of maintenance. My betta fish are thriving in their new environment, and I couldn't be happier. If you're looking to create a beautiful and healthy habitat for your bettas, this substrate is an absolute must-have!I would definitely give it a solid 5-star rating and will be using this substrate for all my future betta fish setups

My daughter loves fish-she purchased a betta fish and the accessories needed for him to thrive with her own money-unfortunately over time poor Wavy died. A few weeks later Curvy was purchased. Eventually this betta fish seemed to struggle-so after we determined it wasn’t his water quality that was poor-I figured it was his environment that needed some enriching. I went all out-buying new plants, some different food and this new gravel because I thought this would be better for him to lay on because it was more smooth than the larger gravel rocks we had. We did a tank change and put Curvs back in his newly remodeled home-but he wasn’t as excited as I thought he’d be. He didn’t thrive he seemed scared of the new plants-and wasn’t a fan of the different shaped food bits-but he did seem to appreciate the smooth softness of this gravel. I probably should have changed out one element at a time. He did eventually pass-and we have concluded that fish are just not our thing. I liked this gravel-but I cannot bring another fish in our home because I feel badly that I won’t be able to do enough to keep it happy.
