This fluegelhorn looks great and plays 95% in tune, which is saying a lot for this tier of horn. I've played the trumpet for 10+ years and have always wanted to own a fluegelhorn even if just for the occasional gig. This served my needs perfectly, and looks beautiful ( even though I was not expecting a silver one..lol)

When you only pay $165 or so for a new horn… What can you expect? Well, you get a lot more than you expect when you buy this horn. It plays in tune. It sounds nice. The mouthpiece is junk. So buy a new one. I can’t say one bad thing about this horn. In fact, I showed it to my musician friends and they are both buying one. I can’t believe what a bargain this was. Like I always tell my girlfriend… It’s not the wand, it’s the magician.

This horn plays very flat on d below the staff. Impossible to sharpen the note, as all slides are already in all the way. Horrible, ugly, dead tone quality. Lead pipe is out of round, as air comes back in your face with both the supplied trumpet and my own Flugel mouthpieces. Absolute junk. Use it at the skeet range.

So far so good. Delivered early. I opted for an alternative mouth piece for improved sound.

Well, the tuning on it isn't amazing. You can get it in tune. But other notes suffer a bit more than usual, at least in comparison to my jupiter flugelhorn. The fourth valve has a weird dent in it, however it doesn't impact much. But the tuning when you switch to the key of F is, for lack of a better term; Rubbish. You have to pull the slide all the way out just to get it more in tune. But it's so sharp even when pulled out all the way it still registers as G# (F# in concert key) on a tuner. You have to lip it down to get it in tune, playing G (F in concert key) without the fourth valve is more in tune.I suggest making it a bit longer, cause it really really needs better tuning. Other than that, it's not amazing sound. But it's alright, it'd be better if you shipped it with a flugelhorn mouthpiece and not a trumpet one.
