Does not work on antique brass. "Instant" has a different meaning to me from the manufacturer. Did not do anything, even when I let it set and used a brush. Absolutely no result. Seller refuses to refund or replace the product. A waste of money - perhaps it works on items that have very little tarnish, but it did nothing on my antique items.

This Buyer is a long-time user of Flitz's traditional blue paste metal polish and has always been impressed with how it performs. However, over time, it has become more difficult to locate locally in traditional brick-n-mortar retailers. An online search revealed that Flitz made a number of products this Buyer was not even aware of, so he decided to give some a try. This product appears to really work based on a small test. Note that this product is a tarnish remover / cleaner as described, and NOT a polish / protectant -- use the traditional blue paste for that including after using this product if that is your objective. The small test involved spraying it on one end of brass fireplace tongs, which were covered in soot as well as being heavily tarnished, and this stuff turned that mess into nice yellow brass almost instantly. However, be careful of over-spray as some got on the plastic handle of a kitchen utensil during my test ( Yes, done in the kitchen! ), and it left a white spot as it was not rinsed off immediately. This product is recommended by this DIYer and former engineer -- gave it only 4 Stars since the test was very limited, and this Buyer cannot comment on its broader use.

I rarely leave reviews, but I had to for this! I honestly took a before picture of our 1920’s gas stove when I started because the product was either going to be great or a disappointment and I wanted pictures to prove it either way.As you can see, after just 2 applications the tarnish was pretty much gone and the color was true and rich. I used a bowl of soapy water to rinse it afterwards and as a bonus the diluted cleaning water left my brass sink looking amazing as well.I highly recommend the product and also strongly suggest using gloves and rinsing with mild soap and water because the product is sticky.

This product is very strong. It burned my skin where I had a previous cut. You need to spray on one item at a time. Then wipe. I sprayed a bunch of copper mugs and put in dish drainer. The copper dripped off into a metal sink. I still cant get it off the sink. I am actually afraid to use it again. It did clean the mugs. It was very messy.

I have an old brass chandelier, that's been hanging in my barn for 40 years with a feed sack over it. It was very tarnish almost black. I sprayed this on it and waited 30 seconds, nothing happened but I ran my finger across and most of the tarnish came off, so with an old tee shirt I wiped most off. Then rinsed with water and a little scotch bright pad it was almost perfect brass color. I would highly recommend.

I swished brass nuts around in a jar containing tarnish remover.I was impressed in how well this product removed tarnish, leaving them looking like new.The same thing happened when I brushed remover on the threaded studs.Later, I sprayed a little bit of the remover on part of a tarnished bathroom pipe.It easily removed scale, leaving the pipe shiny except for a few little spots that need to be rubbed with steel wool. The liquid is very powerful, so it is wise to avoid contact with skin and eyes, using rubber gloves, as recommended on the bottle.

It works. I mean it really works. And it works instantly. It does EXACTLY what it shows in the videos and i could not believe the immediate difference in less than 5 seconds. Very easy to use. Just spray, wait as instructions state and rinse with water. I used this on an old ships lamp that was heavily tarnished. It performed better than anything i have seen in 30 years. Note: fumes are quite strong. Use with good ventilation and do not skimp on the rinse with water! The difference will shock you when you see this in action!

I’m a drummer with a substantial vintage cymbal collection. Cymbals are made from an alloy consisting of mainly brass with some copper and other metals. I’ve been trying to clean some of the worst looking ones lately without much luck at all. I decided to do a little “cymbal cleaner shoot out” to determine which, if any, of the brass tarnish removers worked well. I was especially interested in finding a product that was non-abrasive and could clean my cymbals up nicely without hours of hard “elbow grease” style rubbing and polishing. So I bought 5 different brass tarnish remover/cleaners and tried them all. 3 of them (Brasso, Hope’s, and “Lizard Spit, which is marketed specifically as a cymbal polish) appeared to be essentially identical. They looked the same, and were all equally ineffective …without a tremendous amount of effort. Even with a lot of effort, the results weren’t great. I also tried Tarn-X, which was better. But it didn’t restore the original look of the cymbal. I got the impression that on a more ideal matching metal, the Tarn-X would work very well. Maybe pure copper or silver? The last product to arrive on my doorstep was Flitz Brass and Copper Tarnish remover. I had all but given up on finding something that worked by this point. But this morning I read the directions and tried Flitz on the other side of the same cymbal that I had been testing all the other products on. You just spray it on and let it sit for about a minute, and then rinse it off. BOOM! I couldn’t believe it! In 1 minute, with no rubbing at all, it took off about 50 years worth of tarnish and made the cymbal look like new again! It works beautifully!I have a feeling that all of these polishes and tarnish removing products probably work very well on certain types of metal and for removing certain types of grime. But for tarnish on cymbals (mostly brass), nothing I have tried even comes close to Flitz. I can’t imagine that anything else could possibly work better.
