Purchased this type of flexible magnetic mat a number of years ago and used it to cover my metal heat vents-worked great!Thought I’d replace these old vent covers with new ones, thinking these new mats would have a stronger magnetism. The magnetic strength of these new mats were so weak that it wouldn’t even adhere to metal. I ended up using my old magnetic vent covers instead

Not the strongest of magnets, but it's been doing the job. Very easy to cut as needed. Will most likely buy more as my projects continue.

I ordered this roll to cover my attic fan for the winter. It is not strong enough to support itself against the metal grate and was also not cut square so even if it would have supported itself, there were corners that would not line up. This item would probably do for magnetic business cards or possibly a door sign but not for much else.
