No instructions. There is a thick clear plastic on one side and a thin black paper on the other. At first I thought the paper was the graphite. Took time to figure out as the graphite has adhesive on the side that has the plastic sheet. Taking off graphite was super easy once a corner was free from the clear plastic sheet. The appearance of damage slipped away as I pushed a piece of the graphite onto the surface of a Peltier module. Thermal grizzly Conductonaut spread easily over other side of graphite which I used to further make contact to my copper heat sink. The Graphite is not easily cracked since it's kind of like stretch material and was easy to smooth with pressure from my finger. Could not have expected more so far. Not re-usable but at this price I'm buying more!

besides the adhesive backing splitting from the graphite layers causing a mess on a few test strips, overall happy with the performance. When placed in direct contact on the heat pipes of my laptop I lowered temps by around 2-3C on the CPU so it's been worth the upgrade for thin and light laptops/ultrabooks.
