My son and I needed to fish some speaker wires from inside a barn to the deck outside. A 15' wide cabin the same length as the barn separated the two. Metal roofing on the barn roof and cabin roof was accessible from inside the barn and from the deck. Sprayed on foam insulation blocked using the raised ribs of the metal roofing as our 3 wire paths (pair of stereo speakers and a subwoofer). We had a 5' long drill bit but needed at least a 3'-4' extension to drill from either end to clear the dense foam insulation. We found this extension and an almost identical Klein branded one for the same price. My son wanted an extension to keep and so did I. So we ordered one of each. Both are advertised as 54" extensions. This one is 51-1/2" long. The Klein is 52" long. The actual usable extension is only 50" since the bit recesses into the extension 1-1/2". The Klein bit holder at the end of the 1/4" diameter rod is tapered on both ends so it retracts from a hole easier than this one which is only tapered on the end where the bit enters, not the end that attaches to the 1/4" rod. We used both of them and both of us preferred the Klein for the same price.

This extension is built out of quality materials. Helps you reach those hard to get two spots. Good length. Easy to use. Good value for the money.

Gives me a long reach for drilling in those hard to reach places. 3 ft long and a bit flexible - not too much though. Comes with a spare set of Allen wrench set screws and an Allen wrench.The end you hook to the drill is not exactly round but not exactly any other sharp shape either. Might need to be tightened a lot to keep it from slipping if your bit binds. The bit end is round with the set screws to hold the bit in so on a round bit you may get some slippage here too if it binds.Very heavy coat of black enamel paint seems a little excessive and may contribute to slippage too.There's a small hole in the end that attaches to the drill and I'm not sure what exactly that's for so a bit of a mystery. This is a nice item to have around since you never know when you might need it and it's not that expensive compared to the jam it might get you out of on those odd occasions.

I picked this up so I could install the bolts for an inground pool cover without bending over and it worked perfectly. It saved a lot of time as I used it to start them, then went behind with a drill and this attachment to screw them in fully.

Note that there are several sizes available in the listing, I’m reviewing the ¼”, 35 inch long extension.This is a good value for a longer length (in this variation 35 inches long) slightly flexible bit holder extension. It will work with standard ¼” size hex and compatible devices. Note that no powered device comes with it, it’s just the extension.It’s good quality, sturdy and well made and nicely finished. It does have some flex to it, but isn’t one you can bend into a shape or L or bend or fold for storage. It does come with accessories and hardware such as spare hardware and a hex Allen key to adjust it.You may want to save, refer to or print the listing pictures and details as some use tips and instructions is included there.
