It's good to have a spare bulb available and this is an original quality bulb from the manufacturer.FYI -- I try to keep the glass clean when handling the bulbs, however, I don't think light handling with bare hands will be detrimental to bulb performance. Again, it's peace of mind to have a spare bulb.

Avoid drops/bumps! It will cease working!
