This tank is well built. The welding seams look solid / no bubbles or voids. The size is just right. Big enough for plenty gas, yet not too heavy to lift.

This tank does keep gas in and I haven’t had any leaks. I use it for my forge to smelt metals and this tank is heavy when full. It will only hold 8.8 gallons and 0.6% is left for pressure. It is a 9.4 gallon tank but you can’t put 9.4 gallons of propane in it. Either way it is a great deal.

this item was priced competitively against other items.if you plan on using a tank and have an application that requires frequent refills, this size can help to reduce back and forth to the gas station. the alternative (which i didn't think about prior) is to connect two tanks (20lb each) with a Y connector and enjoy the same amount of gas. perhaps easier to carry. all in all, happy with my choice and it will serve me for my gas applications during the winter.

I purchased this additional propane tank for my gas/propane generator for emergency use. I really like the size of the 40lb tank as it's fairly heavy when full, but definitely manageable. Shipping arrived in a large box, with little packing material, but no dents and or major issues. I should note it was white paint only, no decals for Flame King, etc. I was able to get it filled over this past weekend, no issues. I was able to get this 40lb and my smaller 20lb filled for $49 w/tax, which is pretty reasonable. I'm now set with 60lbs of propane along with a few 5 gallon tanks of gas in case of power outages as winter continues.

I have really enjoyed using this larger tank. It has a protective plastic net that keeps it looking great. I take it and have it filled at Tractor supply. No issues. Good tank. I recommend

Not sure if this tank was made by Flame King or not - no label on tank (as shown on Amazon website). Had all the required gov labels, just no way of knowing who made the tank. On the + side, tank was in good condition when received, and does not leak. Has the overfill protection device in the valve, so its legal.
