Q: Does it keep on rotating?
A: Yes, after installation, it will remain rotating. It won’t stop unless power off.
Q: What happens if we run out of power? the globe falls to the ground and breaks?
A: This globe has a power-off protection function. Once the power is off, the base will attract the maglev globe to prevent its falling to the ground.
Q: I cannot get this thing to float. Is there a trick?
A: You must lift the globe with both hands and place it 0.8 inches above the center of the base to feel and reach the sweet spot. Then gently remove your hands. You can watch the video code in user manual for detailed installation tips and steps.
Q: What should I do if the device becomes a little hot after trying to levitate many times?
A: If the base is hot, you need to power off and wait for 5-10 minutes before the next try.

How it works ?
- The globe has a magnet at the bottom of the globe. Inside the base is a Hall detector which detects changes in the magnetic field of the magnet at the base of the globe.
- When the globe is out of balance, the Hall detector detects the change in the magnetic field of the magnet at the bottom of the globe and generates a compensating current.
- When the compensating current flows to the metal coil at the top of the base, the magnetic field of the metal coil increases, pulling the globe back into balance.
- This can be explained by by the principle of conservation of momentum. The total external force on the globe is zero, so it will rotate at a fixed rate and in a fixed direction.

This item was bought as a gift and was not opened until after the return date had expired. After watching all the tutorials and trying for several hours (taking breaks periodically to make sure the item did not overheat), it simply does not work. It appears the magnet within the globe is possibly off center. It was boxed and handled carefully, all instructions followed, but simply is a faulty item. Very disappointed to get an almost $90 paper weight as a gift for someone. I wish I had been within the return window as it clearly is defective.

This globe is much smaller than it seems, and the base almost seems too big. There's a definite learning curve to get it to levitate properly which can be frustrating.
