Added this to another kind of clamp to my office chair. This clamp doesn't tighten up enough to hold.

It worked. Easy to install. The negative is that there were no instructions, especially for the extra lever arm that I did not need so far.

Years ago I drilled a hole in the cylinder(!) and center post of my chair and inserted a bolt, to hold the height. This is a similar function, but so much easier to implement! I now have two of these installed on my chairs and they work great! You can no longer adjust the height of the chair (who does that anyway?) but it can save your old office buddy from ending up in the dump! The price is right and this works!

I love my desk chair & the hydraulics were failng.I did not want to buy a new chair..I wasn't sure what size hydraulic cylinder to buy ?I saw this for at least half of the price to changing out the cylinder .It is easy to add & I'm 75 , so I try to looks for less work to fix things !It works like a Charm !!No more slowly sinking in my chair ! I give it a 10 out of 10 !!!!!

It is just metal. This product might've performed better if it came with a rubber pad or had rubber lining that would be situated between this product and the chair's cylinder, but no rubber at all.I tightened it uncomfortably tight using a wrench, and within 5 minutes of sitting my chair sunk back down through the grip of this product. I weight 160 lbs.

I had hope for this but it just doesnt work. I got it as tight as I could but it still starts to slip by the end of the day. It is pretty rugged and its built well, but it just cant grip the cylinder hard enough to keep it from slipping down. I even used to screwdriver to turn the screw to the point where I thought it was going to snap or crush the cylinder but it still didnt grip enough.

Chair still sinks, it just sinks more slowly. The clamp is easy to operate and can be tightened with tools if you need an extra strong hold. However, due to the smooth surface of the cylinder and of the clamp it will allow your chair to slide down over time.

I cannot attest to comfort, sturdiness or value. I can say this is a heavy weight clamp and it seems to be working as advertised. I am a big boy so I will see how long it holds up. 2/7/22. EZ to apply. I recommend this over the 2 screw clamp.***2/8/22 So far this clamp holds tight. Make sure you clean all oil of the saft with a solvent of some kind. And snug the thumbscrew by hand. Test it for tightness and tighten some more. Do not over tighten. I like this product.*** 2/10/22 Not as secure as advertised. Post still slips through the clamp, but is better than without it. I will rough up the post to see if that helps.>>>To the seller/manufacturer: What will happen if I raise the post all the way and then drill a hole in the post just above the clamp? If I place a screw in the wall of the post, the post cannot slip down.March 6: Can't say I like it. It is not strong enough for my use. The only way this will work is if you are about 150 pounds and drill a screw hole in the tube so the clamp cannot slip down. Definitely NOT worth MY money.
