Llevo usando esta carpeta/maletín desde hace ya seis meses. Me ha sido de gran utilidad. Es práctica, no es precisamente cómoda pero si es fácil de transportar. Además le cabe todo lo necesario para el día a día en la escuela o universidad. Los compartimentos ofrecen mayor espacio y seguridad para documentos. Durante todo el tiempo que la he usado he podido transportar hasta dos libros, una portátil de 13 pulgadas y mis artículos escolares, todo al mismo tiempo. Además, si no traes cosas expuestas, si soporta sin problema una lluvia moderada.

After 9 months it's still holding together even if fraying at the edges. the zipper is intact and the folder is still keeping its shape. It's a 7th grader's folder so you can only imagine the beating it takes on a daily basis! Much better performance than other prior options we've tried. It's a bit pricey, but worth the extra coin for the durability.

I purchased this for my son because a zipper binder was suggested to assist him with organization at school. I purchased FIVE STAR because they are a well-known brand and I have owned some of their products in the past with good results. My son is careful with the binder, but one of the rings became misaligned early on. He managed to continue using it without too much trouble. After six months of use, the zipper stopped working. If he zips it up, the zipper moves in the track, but the teeth do not stay together. It is as if he never zipped it to begin with. For $25, I expected this item to last longer. This particular failure is unacceptable to me, as the ability to zip it was why I was willing to spend the extra money.Update 12/15/17My son continued to use this binder as a backup for another newer zipper binder of a different brand. It wasn't as useful since the zipper didn't work, but he liked having all the pockets and such. Today, he came home and all of his papers had fallen out! A grommet that holds the rings in place through the back of the binder is missing. This means that the 3 rings are no longer attached to the binder exterior; it is completely ruined. I would NOT buy this product again.

La carpeta se ve resistente, es bonita y es amplia, perfecta para usarla en la universidad, el problema que encuentro es en las costuras, adjunto foto, al parecer esa parte no durará mucho, y en cuanto al envio todo fue perfecto, llego antes de tiempo.

Excellent design - the outer bungee area holds 4 composition notebooks, and because they're on the outside of the zipper compartment, it saves a lot of time getting out materials and putting them away. The pen/pencil loops on the outside are BRILLIANT, and the zipper mesh compartment inside holds back ups.Like all binders, the rings are low-quality and starting to not join well. However, they've lasted longer than any other binder we've tried, so I'm not going to dock for that. It's not perfect, but it's hands down the best binder we've found.

My son isn't allowed to carry a backpack in school. This binder holds all of his supplies, has the expanding file to help him keep up with homework by class and the expanding pouch on the front is perfect for the two notebooks he needs to remember to bring every day. It's sturdy, too. It won't last the year for us, but is going to make it at least halfway which is fantastic when you've got a kid that picks at stuff when he's distracted.Update: School started August 24th, and today is November 30th. The three ring binder portion has completely detached from the binder. I've contacted Mead for a warranty replacement. I'll update when I hear back!

The "expansion panel" in this binder is what really makes it stand out. It's like a thin, flexible rectangle (with a woven, thin cardboard like material inside that provides support), which stretches up as you squeeze in notebooks underneath. The panel capacity or how many notebooks the expansion panel can fit is about 3 100-sheet notebooks. Keep in mind that the expansion panel CAN fit 8.5 x 11 inch notebooks, such as the wider Staples Accel series notebook that I commonly use. The expansion panel also features three small holes to fit your pen/pencil/highlighter. These holes fit pretty much any type of pen and highlighter. Unfortunately, they only work with standard pencils NOT mechanical pencils, because the mechanical pencils' grips are too fat to fit in the small hole. One example is the popular Twist-Erase series mechanical pencils don't fit in the small hole.Inside the binder, on the right side is empty space for more notebooks or paper, and on the binder itself is a small sleeve (see product listing image) to in which you can fit some extra-large papers, useful for larger sized posters that you want to fit in your binder after folding. On left side of the binder is a calculator pouch (NOTE: calculator pouch fits the TI-84 Plus calculator perfectly), a thin transparent mesh square, and the standard folding designed file system to organize papers.The only problem with this binder is like with many many binders, the rings are not the sturdiest. If you're someone like me who usually is in a hurry and quickly opens the binder by pulling apart the inner rings instead of pushing out on the tabs on the end like you're supposed to, you many find one pair of rings "separate" after some time. This separation happened about two months after purchase and is very small, a little less than half a centimeter but can be annoying if you're quickly flipping through some papers and one of the papers gets caught in the gap.Lastly, this binder also is very spacious. I always need to by big binders to fit all my notebooks and in this one I was able to fit: 3 Staples Accel notebooks (100 sheets each), a pencil pouch, and 2 100 sheet notebooks underneath the expansion panel.To conclude, overall this is an excellent binder but be careful to properly open the rings by pushing on the outer tabs. If you do that, then the expansion panel truly makes this a unique and useful school binder.

My 12 yr old has been using this in middle school for 6 weeks. So far it has held up well and works perfectly for what he needs. The expansion pocket on the front is especially helpful. He uses that for his novels he needs for English class. I don't know why this product doesn't have more reviews. It really is great. You can fit in a lot more than it looks like you could. The zipper and velcro pocket inside are also perfect. For phone, kleenex and other misc items.
