These cheers have been very comfortable grip that allows for a lot of leverage so you can cut through thicker items easier. There is an internal mechanism that limits how wide it will open, though, and I promptly broke it so that it would open wider. These don’t seem like they will rust if they get left outside, which does happen and is important. Overall these are great! Could be better with the internal limiter, but can’t find anything else that comes close to the performance and qualifications of these sheers

I had a trimmer but it took all my strength to get it to 'sometimes work' and even then it wasn't a clean cut. This trimmer is awesome. It is easy to use and I will admit I don't have the strongest of hands. So if I can get it to cut, you should be able to. It cuts clean and fast. It makes trimming up those rouge branches quick and easy. The grip is comfortable and the size is just right. It seems durable and well made so I expect it will last. So now my yard looks much better as I have no excuse putting off the task.

So what's new you ask? Are we going to continue to accept lower quality goods at higher prices? Sometimes the price remains reasonable but the quality drops so much, there's little value left. I have a power pruner that I got in a 3 pack of small, medium and large pruners about 20 years ago, and it was fantastic. The largest pruners were the power pruner type and they were smooth, comfortable, effective and lasted all those years, as have the smaller pruners. The power roll handle finally gave out and I can't see a fix, so I tried the new ones in spite of the poor reviews which clarify why this isn't the best selling pair of Fiskars. To give the company credit, the blades are still good but if they aren't pleasant to use - who cares? The lock is really hard to use as many other reviewers mentioned, so the pruners stay open which isn't the end of the world but I don't want them in my pocket without being locked, so there's another function that's inferior. I'm going to try different brands until I find one that makes me happy. I'd go for a pair of Felco pruners, but I've tried their smallest pruner at a friend's house and they're too heavy for me. I'm not as good as I used to be either but it's not a manufacturing/design problem. ;>}

This is my second pair of these Fiskar's Clippers. The first pair lasted 20 years until I dropped them on the concrete and they busted. This pair appears to be just as durable and hopefully they will last just as long as my original ones. The ratcheting handle does take a little getting used to, but doesn't bother me at all

I was not sure if I would like the handle and it’s rotating but it has proven to make trimming much easier on my old hands. It has become the first choice for my wife and that alone makes it worthwhile. The easy and effectiveness is a bonus.

I only buy Fiskars gardening tools now. After buying several different and cheaper brands, I am totally committed to only purchasing Fiskars now. Very durable and strong. They are also well made garden tools. Fiskars are a little pricier than other kinds, but they are well worth the investment. Very dependable and I have never needed to sharpen any of the various types I own. My only wish is that they made holsters or sheaths that you could clip to your work belt or gardening bucket. Have total confidence in buying any of the Fiskars tools because they are well worth the price.

This PowerGear2 Pruner is quite good so far. It feels good and light in the hand. The cutting action is smooth. And it handles medium duty pruning needs very easily. My main con at this point is that I am unsure of its durability. I've purchased a couple of Fiskars pruners over the past 3-5 years, and while they both are still OK to use, they each have developed minor issues within a 1-2 years of purchase (one has a broken locking mechanism, while the gearing mechanism on the other is no longer smooth). I regularly clean, oil and sharpen these pruners, but I haven't had the best experience as far as the longevity of these tools go. Still, this is a pretty good choice for a pruner as long as you don't mind possibly needing to buy a new one after a few years of use.
