Running a Manuka honey farm can be a tricky business. That’s because bees will tend to harvest the nectar of every flower they find. In order to secure the potency of every tube and bandage of First Honey, every flower around here must be a Manuka flower. The bees only visit the sticky, thick, and sometimes difficult petals of this whitish pink blossom.

Our Manufacturing Process
The New Zealand Manuka Tree
Leptospermum scoparium, commonly known as the Manuka tree, is a species of flowering plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae, native to Australia and New Zealand. Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a natural saccharide found in the nectar of this beautiful flowering bush-like tree.
Our Bees Draw Healing Nectar
Bees draw their nectar from the Manuka flowers on our First Honey farms and turn it into honey. Over time the DHA in the nectar is gradually converted into a compound called Methylglyoxal (MGO) through a natural chemical reaction.
Harvesting and MGO Testing
MGO is the main chemical responsible for the unique antibacterial activity in Manuka Honey. Our beekeepers carefully harvest the Manuka honey, and collect a sample from each batch which is independently lab tested for the precise level of MGO. The batches with the highest concentration of MGO are selected for medical application.

I love the yellow color and that it includes a handle. It is roomy enough that you could add multiple other first aid items to this kit.The kit has one large, netted pouch and the opposite side has two small netted pouches and eleastic grips for the ointment and scizzors. The the center has a zippered clear square that you can take out as it snaps in. Inside the square it has a card that lists all the expiry dates which is really useful to have so you know what you need to update and when. All dates in my kit list 2025 or 2026 as the expiry date.This will definitely come in handy throughout the year. I rated it 4 stars as the price is currently $48.79 which is a bit pricey. It is a really nice kit and if you're looking for a honey alternative to standard care then this might be worth it for you. There is a lot of promising research about the medical grade honey and wound healing.

I used the Skin Therapy Cream on some very dry and iratated spot on my leg about 4in. x 4in. and it looks and feels great ! Will be getting more for sure Thanks Terry .

This is my second order of FirstHoney. . I use the ointment in place of antibiotic ointments. While I have not needed serious wound care, I have a friend who was treated by wound care specialist for an abscess that did not heal after a round of antibiotics. Specialist recommended using medical honey and warm compresses.. First Honey is the brand they used. Following directions of specialist, the abscess healed quickly. its a bit pricey but it is 100% pure manuka honey.. A good addition to first aid supplies

The First Honey Natural First Aid Kit is a staple in our home now! The packaging is well designed and I was excited to open this box of goodies. The cream is excellent for my eczema (I struggle to find a proper cream that is the right consistency and without too many chemicals, but this one does the trick), and the bandages are awesome for my 3 year old who is often needing something healing to cover her cuts/scrapes from playing. I'd recommend this to anyone I know!

So I can't say enough good about this manuka honey. I tried the ointment on a couple spots where i got scraped up by fire coral and the ointment healed it SO fast. Added this to my dive kit. It's a bit sticky but I throw a bandaid over it right after I put it on until it's all absorbed. I haven't used the bandaids yet. Saving them for a larger injury since they are bigger. I like the lotion as well. Very moisturizing but not heavy. I keep it in my purse, it's great for dry skin! Would definitely recommend this for anyone to keep in their medical kits.

I had previous experience with this brand of sterile ointment but wanted to try the other products. This kit was a perfect for what I wanted - basically a “test” or sample of the various products.I have super sensitive skin and always react to medical product adhesives, even products made for reactive skin. I was pleasantly surprised when I did not have an immediate reaction after using the bandaids in this kit! Additionally, I became a fan of the skin therapy cream. It works better on my skin than most prescriptions from the dermatologist.Definitely would recommend this product for a small first aid kit or to try the various products in this line.

I am a physical therapist who had bunion surgery on my foot and I wanted a researched sterile medical grade ointment to utilize for the healing process at week 3 post surgery. I ordered this box of First Honey due to it having Medical Grade Manuka Honey in all its products. I have been able to utilize all 3 products and am extremely pleased with the results. Starting a review with the box, it is a very nice way to keep products in a more clean environment away from other products when using and for ease of storage, each product nestled in a cushioned white foam in the red box. It is easy to see the red box anywhere I place it or under my sink and quickly pull it outI am very impressed with each of the 3 products it came with for use. The sterile honey ointment I placed on my sterile gauze on a spot that was having difficulty healing and it seemed to go right to work with new skin starting to fill in the wound within 3 days. The skin therapy cream I used all over my foot due to severity of dryness due to constantly wrapping my foot with compression wrap and my skin is definitely greatly improved eliminating even the severe dry spots of the big toe base. I used one of the adhesive bandages today now that the wound size has reduced and it is holding perfectly on my foot as I walk allowing the wound to get the healing effects while I am very active. Therefore I would highly recommend First Honey to assist in sterile wound healing with it’s noted effectiveness and ease of use from the red box kit.
