The most critical part of this product is how it attached at the top. The carabiners supplied are clearly not intended for supporting a person and preset a serious injury risk likely resulting in loss of life.The desugn of the rungs is also terrible and pinched my feet and little toes several times, through my shoes.This is not a safety device and should not be represented as such. This is not a tool or a toy and should not be represented as such. This is a wall decoration and nothing more.

Smells bad because it has clearly been in use elsewhere. Smells like a sewer. If I am purchasing something beyond gentle use, I should be told it is used.

While a second story window is a great way to get out of the house in an emergency, it seems to me that a ladder offers a better landing than jumping. Once attached to the wall below the window sill, I admit it does look a bit tacky and would be nice if it came with some sort of cover or a box to mount so it was not always visible...but hey, it makes for a nice conversation piece, yes?

This ladder is sturdy, well made and light weight. There are no instructions. Someone took a pen and wrote the number 3 at the top of each side. No idea why. It would help my purposes if it came in a bag, but for ease of access for most people, probably best not to have that temptation. I hope I never need this ladder, but I'm glad I finally got one.

Our bedroom is upstairs with a fairly long drop down to the deck so emergency escape has been something on my mind. When I saw this ladder, I wanted to grab it with the hope that it would work. Let me start by saying that this is a fairly heavy-duty rope ladder that seems well made with durable stitching and material. The rungs of the ladder are solid so there won't be any flexing or binding when you step on them. As you can see from the sixth photo, it's a quite long ladder which is exactly what we need for our room. The issue we are facing is how to attach it in the room. for obvious reasons we aren't going to be mounting huge O-rings into our wall, so we need to come up with some solution. In the short term we are going to use a metal bar that is wider than the window casing and will just basically affix itself against the wall while we climb down - let's be honest if we are desperate enough to go this route we probably won't care if the bar damages the wall or window. I am wondering why the one we got looks to be dirty or has rust on it? I don't think it's used, but you can see in the first couple of photos what I am referring to. Overall, I am happy with this emergency ladder, and I think that when the kids come to visit, we may use it outside for fun as well so it's a win, win. I have no problem with recommending this to anyone looking at this time for a good emergency or even activity ladder.

I bought this fire ladder trying to be prepared. I haven't had to use it yet. It is a good sturdy product. The stitching is reinforced. Very good product.
