These fire blankets are incredibly helpful for handling small fires with low effort and no mess compared to a fire extinguisher. It is worth noting that since these are fiberglass, you WILL get fiberglass splinters if you handle the fire blanket outside of the case. In an emergency, not a big deal, but if you want to practice with these for any reason, please use gloves. In taking one out of the case to inspect it, I found the straps not particularly easy to use to deploy it. You can just fold down the velcro and then pull it out, though, so no big deal. And in an emergency, you'll probably be using a lot more force thanks to adrenaline. The cases feel pretty sturdy and the blankets themselves are well constructed and large enough to handle plenty of situations. As a firefighter, I am a huge fan of these and think that they should be a staple in homes and vehicles. I wouldn't suggest replacing your fire extinguishers with them, but instead having them as an additional option. These have a lot of benefits but they can't handle everything that a fire extinguisher can. The mess that a dry chemical extinguisher makes is crazy, so these really add a lot of value for homeowners who don't want to be cleaning dust out of everything in their kitchen for who knows how long after a small fire. They can also prove useful for some situations in garages and camping which is why I keep the second one in my truck. The way these work is by starving the fire from oxygen for long enough that the materials involved are able to drop below the temperature at which they will reignite when exposed to fresh air, so if you do happen to use these on an actual fire, remember these two things:1. Get it on whatever is on fire in a way that it is able to completely cover the involved materials and oxygen won't be able to get to them. If you can't cover the fire in that way, grab your extinguisher instead.2. Once you've deployed this on a fire, leave it there for a long time. There's no point in risking a reignition when you're right on top of it removing the fire blanket, so let it chill for as long as you think it needs and then give it a little more time to be safe.If I ever end up needing to use one of these for an actual fire, I'll come back and update the review. Until then, I will leave this at a solid recommendation!

Both fire blankets came well packaged and ready for use. I have been wanting one of these for the kitchen for that just in case moment. I will also place one in my car as you never now when you might need it in an emergency. I like the idea of reusing them if they don't get damaged all you do is wipe it off, fold it back up, and place back in the red bag. I hope I never have to use them but I feel more comfortable having them near by. I also have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen but I think I will pull the blanket out first as there will be less mess. Great products for a nice price.

Honestly, I have no idea if these blankets are legitimately certified CE and EN-1869:2019 compliant other than it being printed on the blanket pouch. Without buying fire equipment from a reputable supplier who specializes in these supplies, I really don't know how to be certain. The price is a little better than a popular name of fire blanket, but not so significantly so that it's leading me to mistrust the product due to its price. Since fire blankets are intended to be single use, I'm not going to give these blankets a test run 😉 but upon inspection, I feel pretty good about having one of these blankets around in case I'm faced with a small fire. The look and feel of the blanket seems good for the job. I do keep a small fire extinguisher in my home, but having a fire blanket to use as a first mode of defense in case of a small fire makes me feel more secure. Not only do I now have two methods of extinguishing, but with a blanket there's no mess or cleanup. I've never used a fire blanket before, but I have had to use a CO2 fire extinguisher as well as other firefighting chemicals, and I'll tell you, for just a small, easily containable fire, using a simple blanket sounds much better. I plan to keep the other blanket in my car in which I also carry a small extinguisher. While the internet says the size of this blanket may not be adequate for extinguishing a person's clothes on fire, I know this and the extinguisher are going to be more than what most people have in their cars. I live in a big city with lots of accidents on the roads. I hope I'll never have to use these things, but I'll be glad to have them if I ever stop to render aid to someone.

A very long time ago when I was a young child I shared a bedroom with my little sister. I was jolted awake by her screaming that her bed was on fire. Apparently while we were sleeping the outlet next to her bed was sparking and lit up her sheets/mattress. My father was working the night shift so my mother ran in with a glass of water. I hadn't known at the time why she suddenly stopped herself from throwing the water - but I do now... you never throw water on an electrical fire (the live outlet was right there next to the bed). Mom ended up smothering it with a blanket from the bed but that could have went bad as well.Until recently I hadn't known much about "fire blankets". So when my son just purchased his first house I thought a thoughtful gift would be a fire extinguisher for the kitchen but I saw these blankets too. It reminded me of that really scary night when I was a child, so I ordered these.I really cannot test these but because I'm a retired vocational teacher and had to teach fire safety, I am well aware that fire requires 3 elements to burn: heat, fuel, and oxygen (fire triangle). Remove any one of these elements and the fire extinguishes. Sometimes people in their panic have trouble with fire extinguishers or spray through the fire instead of at the base; however, with these blankets, it's clear that you have to toss the blanket right on top (thereby cutting off the oxygen). For some, this might be the better way to go.Nevertheless, the combination of fire extinguishers and fire blankets makes me feel better about my son in his new house; so much so, that I also picked up a fire blanket to have in our house along with our extinguisher.
