I hope I never need to use these, but after seeing the video demo on Amazon, I decided that it is an essential to have on hand! I ordered one to keep in the kitchen, and one to keep near the fireplace. Sparks and flare ups can happen so quickly. I feel safer knowing I have these on hand now!

I have one hanging inside a cabinet in my kitchen, gave one to my mom and one to my sister. I'm comforted that everyone has one just in case and hopefully nobody needs to use them

So we lost power from almost a week during the bomb cyclone this November I’ve been using the fireplace to warm the downstairs for about five hours and we had to bring some larger pieces of wood inside that was kiln dried, but it was having a hard time lighting, even with copious amounts of kindling, so I push them to the back of the fireplace and put in Duraflame as soon as the paper burned off the Duraflame the fireplace became a portal to hell. The fire was completely in, golfing the fireplace, and the heat coming off through the glass was so bad. I could barely open and close the doors and I saw the fire extinguisher. I saw the fire blanket so I threw the blanket over it. It started cooling down within a few minutes, but it did continue to burn and glow for a long time it’s been a few days. We opened up the doors which had become a peak from some kind of resin that came out of the wood in the smoke and when we removed the blanket, there was nothing but a pile of ash at the very bottom of the fireplace, all the wood burned up and fairly rabbit release of heat but the fire blanket smothered the flames ultimately did not end up using a fire extinguisher. I need to find some chimney sweeps to clean up.It doesn’t get damaged in all the videos, but this is what it looks like for real when you pick it up the next day

I had ordered another fire blanket for my home and decided I needed another one for a family member. A fire blanket certainly provides peace of mind and I a must for a kitchen fire compared to using a fire extinguisher that leaves a messy harmful residue. The fire blanket package easily hangs on a wall or is easily stored in a convenient drawer, measuring only under 13 inches by 8 inches. When needed, the fire blanket is easy to remove and expands to a 40 inch by 400 inch size that fits over most stoves tops. An important feature is that a fire blanket doesn’t expire like a fire extinguisher and doesn’t need maintenance. I hope never to use a fire blanket but if I do I certainly will provide a follow up review.
