Waste of money. Blew out within a couple of months. Nearly killed everything in the tank with the temp drop. Thankfully I had a high & low temp alarm on the tank. Saved all the animals in there.

Ordered late October 2024. Dead today, February 12 2025. Less than 4 months is extremely disappointing. Will not be purchasing again.

I purchased this at the end of October, installed it in November and the unit failed by the beginning of January. It worked for maybe a month and a half. Live in Southern California, so there are no extreme weather conditions here.

Maybe I got a bad specimen, but my heater didn't last. Connected to inkbird controller. It did heat the aquarium as expected at first. Today as I am trying to figure out why my discus are getting all nervous all of a sudden I see that aquarium is significantly cooler then set temp. Controller is firing but the heater is dead cold. hopefully the replacement will last longer longer

I’ve had various types of aquariums over the last 40 years. A good heater is critical to the health on many inhabitants. This is truly the heater that defines the industry standard. All others must be compared to this one. It’s the best!Excellent value and it will last a long time.

So I really liked the setup of these Finnex heaters, my first lasted about 3 years, the latest one was purchased 10 months ago 3/24 and of course I'm told only 6 month warranty!! I start checking online and continue to see issues with these style heaters. The control seems to be fine still registering temps but heater control box is red with alarm sounding. I've unplugged heater and removed and cleaned entire heater and checked for and possible issues with element and glass. I've reset unit and nothing so I'm calling time of death 12/8/24!!

for two years I been trying to find a decent heater that has some reliability and consistency. After four failed heaters I finally installed an Inkbird controller and this heater tube and it appears to be working flawlessly and heats the tank back fast enough not to shock the fish with a temp swing. he last heater was a 300W labeled as an Amazons choice. This heater would come on and then after a minute go out for a minute, then back on then out etc and the tank took forever to come back up to temp as a result of possibly an over temp protector or such. The new setup provides heat until the water is back up finally.
