I've been cycling for years and tried many different lubes. This is by far my favorite. It goes on easily, and after drying forms a sticky film that lasts a very long time.I guess it picks up some dirt and dust, but I've honestly never had a lube that doesn't. If an oily wet lube is wet enough to work, it is wet enough to absorb dirt. Dry lubes just leaves waxy crud on everything and never seems to lubricate well enough. This slightly tacky lube seems to be less messy than either an oily wet lube or a cruddy dry lube, but it lasts way, way longer. I can actually wipe clean the side plates and outer surfaces of a chain several times while the inside surfaces still seem sticky and well lubricated. One thing to note is that this lube needs to dry in order to be at it's best. I try to apply it and then let it sit a while before a ride. After the carrier fluid evaporates, I lightly wipe any excess off the chain. If I must apply it right before a ride I just wipe the excess after I am done riding. It's pretty obvious when the lube is dry because it changes from watery to a sticky film. By cleaning off excess lube it helps minimize dirt build up, while still providing very good, and very long lasting lubrication.I've tried a lots of lube before this one. This Finish Line Ceramic really stood out as superior and is the only thing I buy anymore.

Prior to using this product I was a big fan of "wax type" lubricants like Finish Line's Krytech or their Ceramic Wax Lube. These lubes are relatively clean and shed dirt. In hot, dry and dusty weather, they work well (last year was hot and with record drought). The wax lubes don't seem to do as well in wet conditions, and in cold weather (around freezing or below) the lube congeals in the bottle and can't be applied (which can't mean that it is working well as a lubricant either).I tried using Ceramic Wet Lube during the winter, and rode every week outdoors (in Indiana) from November to present. It functions well in cold weather. I had planned on switching back to the waxy lubes during the spring and summer, but the Ceramic Wet Lube has been working well for me so far. This spring and summer has been like the monsoon season, and I have been caught out in more than one downpour - the lube stays in place despite the water.I have also gotten a tad over 4,000 miles on my current Dura Ace 9 speed chain (installed it in February, 2013), which I think is a new record for me. I can't tell if it's the lube or the fact that I now clean and lube my chain religiously (due to the fact that as I wear out 9 speed components, it is becoming much harder to find replacements), but results are results. This is now my go-to lubricant. It's reasonably clean for a wet lube and stays in place. You just have to be sure to wipe off excess from the chain after application. It's easy to clean off of a chain when needed, and is a cinch to re-apply. I like it.

In south Louisiana, near the Gulf Coast, the humidity rarely drops below 80%, it rains at least weekly and sometimes daily. My bike is in a leaky shed and not a garage. Rust is a persistent problem.I have tried dry, Teflon, and wax chain lubes. These are probably great for New Mexico and Arizona, but not for south Louisiana. After a couple of years of experimenting with different recommendations, I finally tried Finish Line Ceramic Wet Bicycle Chain Lubricant. I started with a new chain, cassette, and this lubricant. When used as directed, the results immediately astonished me:* It produced the quietest chain I ever had. I had not realized how noisy it was until the noise was gone.* It repels water better than anything I ever used, and therefore prevents rust longer between applications.* It reduced the drivetrain resistance so much that I could immediately go one gear higher on the same roads that I have been traveling for years.* The longer I have used it, the longer I can go between applications.Even experimenting on an old rusty chain, the difference is immediately noticeable.I have found the ideal lubricant for my environment and am not going to be switching any time soon!Update on 7/21/2013The first bottle I ever ordered was in June 16, 2012 and the second on December 22, 2012. My first bottle is about used up, so I am about to order another bottle as a backup. This is still the most effective chain lubricant I have ever used and I have no compelling reason to switch.I recently was not able to ride for about 2 months straight. When I got back on my bike, I expected the chain to be stiff with at least some rust, as with other lubricants I had used before. However, the shifting and pedaling was just as quiet and smooth as the day I had last cleaned and applied fresh lubricant.
