Arrived carefully packaged & works well. Good value. Only an electronic nerd fooling with vacuum tubes (like my spouse) will understand what this is for. But he's very happy with it.

I ordered this filter choke to fix a filtering problem in an antique radio I was working on. It worked great and brought the radio back to life again. The price was well within reason and the product shipped in a nominal amount of time. I will order products from this company, again. Thanks.

I am doing experiments with alternating current to teach my grandchildren about the phase shift in an inductor and capacitor circuit. In my inventory, I had inductors with small milliHenry values, where it was possible to work only with frequencies in the range of kiloHertz. Therefore, I ordered a choke with a specified value of 7 Henry intended for vacuum tube circuits. For my experiment, I connected a choke in series with a 1k2 resistor from a 14 VAC transformer. I have shown the voltage from the transformer in Channel 1, the voltage drop across the resistor 1k2 in Channel 2 (representing the current across the choke). A better sinus wave shape was achieved with a function generator.Similarly, experiments can be done with a capacitor. Since the conventional capacitor is close to ideal, there is no problem to achieve a phase shift close to 90 degrees.Obviously, to measure the lagging current on the inductor you use the resistor connected to the oscilloscope ground, and to measure the lagging voltage on the capacitor, the capacitor is connected to the oscilloscope ground.Grandchildren love the experiments.
