great for beginners..i rap and i never used an audio interface before but this one is very easy to use and understand and i feel i can use any audio interface now. mic works great but is very sensitive..it picked up police sirens about a block or 2 away. very easy to setup and operate. definitely a great product for the price.

Honestly, if you are just starting out and are either on a budget or don't want to commit to high-end gear until you've tested the waters, you simply cannot go wrong with this kit. It is an excellent price for what you get. The microphone is surprisingly good, and the mixer allows you to further refine your audio recordings.I really like its compact size and its simplicity of operation. Do I have better mics? Yes. Do I have better mixers? yes. HOWEVER, there is always a use for something this compact, portable, and easy to use and I have already got my money's worth of recording out of this kit, so it's definitely a keeper for my studio.Only time will tell how it will fair in terms of durability (and I'll be sure to update this review if I encounter any unexpected issues with it down the line), but my initial impressions are quite high and I have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone who needs an inexpensive started mic and mixer kit.Happy podcasting :)

Microphone weighs a ton and is physically large - for no reason other than to make you think it's high quality. Small tripod does not insulate vibration from desktop it's supposed to sit on. It's cute, though. I set it on a sheet of closed cell urethane foam for isolation support. XLR cable included - nice! Can accept a musical instrument input, such an electric guitar. Controls work as expected. Works immediately with USB-connected computer. Gets the job done, no pops or clicks, minimal hiss.

The microphone's a bit more sensitive than I hoped but for the price and features I can't complain at all. Works and sounds great, build quality is impressive and everything is high quality. A plus!

I'll get it out of the way, the build on this interface does not inspire confidence at all. It's plastic, it's light, and it feels like a toy. Fortunately there's rubber feet on the bottom, otherwise it would be slipping and sliding everywhere when you adjust it and plug things into it. If you were to base this on the immediate reaction of picking it up and feeling it, you will not come away impressed.Saying such, using it, the interface and the dynamic mic works really nicely. Adjusting gain input on the interface is super easy, and the responsiveness of the led meter is nice. It's a binary on/off meter which is better than nothing, but it would of been nice to see levels. I tried several mics on it including the provided XLR mic and they all sounded pretty decent. I did get a nice benefit from using a cloud lifter on the BHPS-1 headset mic, but the Rode Podmic didn't need one. The mic provided with the set actually sounds pretty decent also, mostly if just using this as a streamer setup. Sadly I didn't see a push to mute option at all on the interface, which is a pity. The headphone output on the interface was strong enough to put decent sound to a Sennheiser HD650 and a few other headsets. Though I had to go a little higher on the volume control wheel.Installing the interface was super easy. Windows had no issues detecting it, and I'm using Nvidia broadcast to clean the signal. People on my discord says it has a nice sound and warmth, though they prefer the sound from the Rodecaster Duo more when compared side by side (I do have post processing on the Rode enabled). At $79.99 this feels like a decent deal. The interface itself is $54.99 so you are basically getting a mic and the stand for $25. For a $25 xlr mic it sounds good, but I don't know if the interface is a $54.99 one. Even if they just added sound weight to the base would inspire more confidence in it. Possibly a metal plate if that doesn't affect the sound quality.I think this would be great for a first time streamer, etc. It does sound good. I suggest pairing it with a decent headset and this could be a really good starter as long as you can get past that plastic light build of the interface and lack of a quick mute button.
