Another affordable equipment win from Fender. I’ve used a clamp-style capo sparingly in my years of playing guitar, but recently started learning several songs that require a capo. Broke my old clamp style out and started wondering if I should use it as a chip clip instead. I was having severe intonation problems on all my guitars with it, spending more time fiddling with the position of the capo to make it sound decent than I was spending learning new material. Time to go gear shopping.Saw this Fender option for a screw-style capo and decided to give this a go, and I’m so glad I did! The product is very compact, easy to store but also likely easy to lose if you’re not careful/work in a cluttered environment. Immediately gave it a test on both my Indonesian Squier Strat and my American HSS, performed without hiccups on both. The screw lets you dial the right amount of tension to both stay in tune and avoid excess pressure on finished necks. Each test sounded like a properly up-tuned guitar. Exactly what I was looking for.I wish I had gone this route for a capo to begin with. It’s much easier to use than a clamp-style, and avoids potential damage to any sensitive guitar necks, also looks pretty sleek without being distracting. If you’re a beginner looking for a first capo, please splurge on this. You’ll thank yourself later.

It works,it's fine , but it looks cooler than what it is...it doesn't immediately lock in..and it's a little bit of a bear to get fully locked in and move around ..the thumbscrew is fine ..but for a lock down capo..it hold tune no better than one of those squeeze ones..it is neat looking..but as far as being practical..fender has better options..it does work, but for people who keep the capo in one position

Smallest capo i’ve ever used. It’s full aluminum and can hold more than enough tension on the strings. This is the only capo you’ll ever need.

I like that it’s minimalistic, but it is harder to firmly clamp than other capos. But, it still works. It’s the capo I usually use.

This is a professional piece of gear. Sure we all wish clip-on capos would just work, but the truth is they're easily bumped & displaced & even the best models don't always apply the proper pressure at all points of the neck or on all guitar necks. Then there is their obtrusiveness. The clip means you've got that ridiculous opposing arm to deal w/hanging off the back of your neck, which is not a deal breaker, but it's something I prefer to avoid. This capo does that beautifully both front and back, & unlike bulky clip-ons this thing is as light as a feather. It's also streamlined w/a very low profile. If you were on stage ten feet away from the nearest audience member, they wouldn't even notice the capo. The tension screw is perfectly placed & it's nearly as quick to set as a clip-on, while offering far better pressure on the fretboard than any clip-on I've owned. Then there is the really good news for people who play most Fender electrics (Squire too) or the Fender Acoustasonics, & many of their acoustic guitars w/electric style headstocks, because most of them have Fender's "Modern C-shape" necks, which this capo is perfectly shaped for. It works fine on my Gibson Explorer w/a wide D shaped neck, & I'm sure it's an even better fit for Fender D shaped necks, but the modern C is what this was built for specifically IMO. It just makes sense numbers wise, for Fender to target that neck shape since it's on 80% of their guitars. If the Fender logo bothers you, the screen print can be easily removed by scratching on it w/a fingernail. I'm a Fender Fanboy so I'll leave it, but my review is not based on my fandom, it's based on being a professional working guitarist that needs the best gear I can find, & this is truly a special find. If at anytime over the next year it fails, I'll come back and update my review, but for now, this stands as my only 5 star review. -Cheers
