I ordered this to have something to lock my grill to my fence just in case somebody tried to steal it. It worked perfectly for that, but I could see all kinds of uses for this besides just a bike cable. The locking mechanism Works fairly smoothly and it's easy to use. There are multiple links of cable that come with it so there's something to lock up just about anything. I'm sure with the right bolt cutters or tools somebody could cut it and take whatever it's holding, but that's the case with any locks I feel. Locks are just meant to deter honest thieves.

This is a good "casual" lock for something like a side gate. The longer wire is better when the angle of a traditional lock makes for harder access.

IT FUNCTIONS AS A BASIC CABLE LOCK. IF YOUR SECURING YOUR HELMET TO YOUR MOTORCYCLE. ITS PROBABLY FINE. BUT IF SOMEONE REALLY WANTED THAT HELMET . WOULDNT TAKE MUCH MORE THAN A PAIR OF WIRE CUTTERS FROM THE TOOL BOX UNDER THE SINK TO GET THROIUGH THAT CABLE. FUNCTIONALITY IS GOOD. LOCK WORKS. SEEEMS TO BE MADE OF NOT SO HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS AND I WOULD LOOK TO A BETTER LOCK WITH MY 1000 DOLLAR SHOIE HELMET. OK BUY FOR THEY MONEY. JUST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING.

Even with 3 sizes, it's like I never have the correct size. I guess I need to find myself a lock with an adjustable length. The 2 you're not using at any particular moment have to be stored somewhere. Would be great if the lock had somewhere to put them or at least clip them together. The lock itself could use some extra beefyness added pretty sure I could rip this thing apart

We needed an additional bike lock for locking up 4 bikes when we are transporting them on the hitch rack. This is easy to use and seems to be sturdy. I am sure you are able to cut it with wire cutters (but most bike locks have this issue). I like that it is easy to store and not much added weight if I add it to my bike when out riding.

Advertised with 20 inch cable. Came with 4 inch cable and an unattached 20 inch cable that could not be used making the whole lock useless.The cables were also so thin they could be cut with a pair of scissors.What a waste.The seller had to know it was useless and should not be sold.

I went with this cable lock because I needed something that was easy to work with for basic use, mainly securing a newly purchased trash bit to the house when not in use. This serves 2 purposes, first is being able to secure the bin where it will not be blown away during a storm, and also to make it harder to steam. Since NY is forcing everyone to buy specific garbage and recycling bins to avoid a sanitation ticket, this has lead to an uptick in theft of those bins. The wire lock works perfectly for this task.User experience:The functional aspects of the lock are intuitive and easy to understand, thus quick to set up a new pass code, and install the cable length that best fits your needs.Due to the locking mechanism, while you cannot make fine length adjustments, it is quicker to use. While it doesn’t have special layers added which are designed to damage cutting tools, it is secure enough to prevent opportunistic theft, and for its price range, the quality is very good.Build quality:This is one area where I noticed a few minor quality control issues, though since none of them impact the initial functionality, I am unsure if they will have any long term issues. For example, the cables are covered in protective sleeve which gives them a softer and more pliable feeling, and prevents the wire from scratching the paint of anything you are wrapping the cable around. Though the does not consistently reach the crimped locking pin. While the tiny gap will not cause functional issues with it not scratching anything you wrap the cable around, it does make me worry about if that will impact the weather resistance of the cable, even though it is listed as stainless steel. Beyond variability in the gap of the sleeve, other parts of the wire lock feel well made, and adequate for light duty work.Rating and explanation:In the context of the MSRP, I give this item a 4.5/5 While this is not something you would use to secure an extremely expensive bike or motorcycle, since people after those will roam around with heavier and high powered tools, it is perfect for more basic use, especially when it comes to securing something to prevent it from being blown away, while also preventing lower level theft.Since I cannot do a fractional score on the review, I picked 5 stars as none of the issues have any negative impact on the initial function. And if the cable is ends up being good quality stainless steel, then I will likely review my review to a full 5 star rating, as the tiny gap near the crimp point will not be an issue at that point.
