No check valve is needed:
FEDOUR 4-outlet air pumps should be installed higher than the water level to prevent the water from flowing back into the air pump.
Check valve is needed:
If you install the aquarium air pump lower than the water level, check valves should be needed, otherwise the water in the air hose will flow back into the air pump, causing damage to the air pump.

Check Valve
- The check valve should be installed correctly, with the larger end near the air pump and the smaller end near the air stone.
- Before using the check valve, pass a thin object (such as a needle) through it to avoid internal sticking and allow for smoother airflow.

- Air filter cotton can filter the impurities in the air.

This is an excellent air pump ! Very quite and twice as powerful as the previous on that was about the same size. We replaced our old one with this air pump because the previous air pump was very loud

So I had a different 4 port air pump for my 125 gallon and it worked well, loud, but it worked. Then I needed one for my 55 gallon and saw this. I figured I'd try it because I knew the other one you could hear 2 rooms away. This one works better and is very quiet! My filters are louder than this air pump! I actually sent my other one back and bought a second one and still can't hear them both over the filters and the tanks are in the same room about 15 feet apart. If you need a 4 port air pump, stop looking and put this one in your cart and buy it! You won't regret it.

This air pump is so nice and quiet. It seems to have lots of power and when I hook up all 4 together, it is holding good power and seems to be evenly distributing air to all four places. I would recommend this air pump to anyone who needs more than one t the same time. I have used only one time, during the time I was hatching brine shrimp, so don’t know how long it will work, but hoping it will continue to work this quietly.

I liked that it puts out a lot of bubbles, has an adjustable dial, and has 4 outlets but it’s gotten progressively louder as time has gone by and gets very hot now after 8 months of use. It also seems to vibrate VERY hard. If it wasn’t getting so hot already we could put it on some kind of cushion but I worry this will compound the overheating motor issue and further reduce its longevity.I hoped to reach out to the seller to trouble shoot but haven’t found where to do so. Likely will not repurchase since we didn’t get a full year of use before it began having significant problems.

I absolutely love this air pump! The only thing I wish I knew before buying is how large it is. I wasn't prepared for how big it was when I bought it. I had a mini air pump on a small shelf on top of my 2 tanks that I replaced with this one and it barely fits on the shelf on its side. It also makes a good amount of vibrating noise. Mainly for me its because there's another shelf on top of the one its sitting on the its bumping on top causing the sound to amplify. Other than that it works amazing!

That worked great for both of my tanks. Unfortunately, I woke up this morning to it. Not working, it somehow fried itself in the middle of the night. I only owned it for 5 months.

UPDATE: So company apologized for faulty one, sent me a new one and HOLY COW this does work amazing so much quieter than the first one! If I didn't see the bubbles I wouldn't know it is on! So I have to say now that I must have gotten a dud the first time because it was never this smooth or quite. Also customer service is wonderful. Company that stands behind there stuff! Can't beat that! So I would have to say now that I would recommend this even if you get a faulty one they will set it right. Now running three filters (Two 20gal and a 10gal) and an air stone, may even be able to add two more air stones like I want with this flow. So this worked pretty good, not really quite unless on the med to low setting, to power a few (two 10 gal and one 20 gal) sponge filters for two months. Although about a week ago in the middle of the night we were awoken by an extremely loud buzz (almost mini chainsaw loud) now I have to combine all four lines just to run one filter.
