If you touch the open button , the lid will open and remain open for 90 seconds or until you press the close button(on right).

I love this trash can for my kitchen. You can use the hands free options when you have your hands full or dirty. The bags are easy to get in and out and it is a sturdy trash can. It holds a lot! Removing the pieces for cleaning is easy as well so it remains smelling fresh.

It is not good at all. In fact all of these styles from other srller too are all trash. Did nott ever have to spend so much on these items in my life. Thus one started to leak from bottom last year so now is used only paper or lint for laundry. I am tired of purchasing trash cans not built well at all I am not on the stainless steal I bought last year.....sane problems with battery mechanism and tonight found liquids all over kitch and paid more then this one(62.00!) there are all poor quality at to much of a cost. How this can happen 4 to 5 times to me is nothing I can understand. Never should need a warranty for trash when offered one. No room in this rental for thr real dancy ones for estate home, not my style nor in my budget. Going back to the regular kind with no batteries needed as they cost a fortune to and rediculous to need gor trash cans. Companies should supply lifetime batteries for consumers who buy and like product that never leaks. I believe it is the bottom not designed well with as not one solid piece, just a little addon for looks. Think about the product going into it who cars about mixing white trash can with black bottom or whatever color they all are horrible. If is was all one piece at bottom I would have first one from 2016 bought for 75.00. Its so unfair and not spending another 60+ for 6th one. Yo many pieces and batteries for holding bunch of garbage. Going back in time to make my life easier and no more of these designs for me. My mom had a plastic all one piece lasted for years. These are made for looks for user friendly to me. Trash cans costing way to much. I do not need it as a focal point in my kitchen, rather be less noticed. No more time to "waste" on trash can that causes more "Waste". Things not made like years ago that is fir sure!!!!

I purchased a bin that is wonderful for the kitchen. The size is accurate that I need. Quality is also excellent. I bought 4 batteries. The lid of the bin is opened automatically. It is working well. May Allahu tawala guide them to the right path.

When you have some trash in your hand you just pass it over the top of the can and like magic it opens and then closes by itself. It is so convenient. I love it! What a marvelous invention! It keeps all the odors inside the can as well. It does sometimes open when you pass by but that isn't really an issue. We have had it for a month. It is still working and the batteries have not needed to be changed. Before my trash can was under the sink and I had to open the the door then throw the trash in and then close the door. Now I can just put the trash in the can on the run in one step,

This garbage can is able to hold more garbage than I anticipated. We use the Kirkland brand garbage bags and they work perfectly with this can. The motion detection can be a bit touchy and you have to make sure you don't overfill it as the lid will repeatedly try to close, but overall it is very good. If you have it close to a wall and the motion detector stops working, check the back switch as it turns off easy when bumped.

Not a bad motion sensor trash can for the price. DO NOT expect to be wowed. It works pretty good for a couple of months and then will start working inconsistently. Takes 4 D batteries (purchase on Amazon for $8). Batteries will last a couple of months. But after a while even with fresh batteries the lid opening becomes somewhat wonky (won’t open all the way and such).*Note: motion sensor only works to open lid. It doesn’t keep it open while you are using it. If you take more than 3 seconds to dump leftovers and such the lid will close on you.
