I use this to keep a 55 gallon plastic water drum warm for winter masonary. For indoors i use it to heat 5 gallon plastic buckets of cold water for grouting and wiping. I was amazed at how quickly it took cold water to warm/hot. I never ran out of warm water. Quality built and performing product.

I bought to keep my cold plunge tank from freezing. It kept water too warm. Great for intended use for animal drinking water. Not the ideal solution for cold plunge tanks but they did not claim it to be. Great product for intended use. Well made.
Constructive feedback!~

Tested it with the coldest water coming out from the tap in a "full" tub. Overnight, by morning the water's perfectly warm for a comfortable bath. A perfect and safe solution as there is no need to worry about the water boiling. The couple that needed this only had reliable power from their stove, so I coupled this with an inline EFI/re-settable fuse on a 12AWG cord, and a 50' 300V 1600W outdoor electrical cord 14AWG from HomeDepot. The heater's rating is 1000W, 120V, 8.33A, 14.4 ohms per a call to the factory.

I had been using the same manufactured heater with lesser wattage (250w) but they kept stopped working and only lasted one season. Bought this 1000w one because our winters can be well into the minus 20's C. As it turned out we've had an unusually mild winter and my only complaint is that the water in my insulated tank is like soup. I have to unplug it on warm days of course but sure doesn't let the water freeze. Next time I think I'd get a 750w. But very happy with it. Horses leave it alone and it works well.

OK, I tried to make a large doggy dooly digester by digging a big hole and lining it with crushed stone. Then I inverted a plastic trash can with holes in the side and put it in the big hole. Then I back filled the sides with crushed stone and put a 5-gallon bucket (with the bottom cut out) nestled in a hole I cut out of the bottom of the trash can. This created a funnel for the poop to go through and into the upside-down trash can. I back filled it all until only the lid of the 5-gallon pale was showing. This was all because I have 5 big dogs...smarty pants I am. Then I filled it with dog poop until it was filled to the top. I put in digester but because the hole was so deep, it essentially acted like a root cellar and kept the poop slurry refrigerated so it wouldn't digest and leach into the ground. So, smarty pants 2.0, I purchased this heater to put in the bottom of the hole to heat up the now 55 gallons of poop so it would digest and leach into the ground. Well, the heater worked great! It warmed up the poop, so it bubbled and burped and farted, but it still wouldn't leach into the ground. I now have a 55-gallon dog poop time capsule. but the heater worked great! Use it for its intended purpose and it will definitely keep watering troughs from freezing.

Bought this to heat up my son’s swimming pool. Did an amazing job of heating it up to 30°. Better than anything i have tried. So it must work in winter for water dishes 😆

The heater works and does get warm to the touch, but definately takes a while to warm up a 12ft pool, but does work.

This is working amazingly. It really heats the water relatively quickly to have a very hot shower, it steams up my bathroom with the exhaust fan on. I am using this in my cottage as I drain the water lines in the winter but am staying up north and needed a solution.

To be honest we bought this for our cast iron tub. The water doesn’t get hot enough from the faucet for our liking so we bought this. If you know you’re going to take a bath then plan on about a half an hour for the water to get nice and warm. DO NOT LEAVE THIS IN THE TUB WHEN YOU GET IN...I can’t emphasize this enough. This little heater heats up quick and will bring your water up to about 100 degrees. I know it’s for livestock water sources but we tried everything we could think of to get hot water to where we like it. It’s a good value for the price and it’ll serve as a dual purpose tub heater and livestock drinking water heater in the winter months.

Works well for our purpose. These are designed to heat only a 5 gallon bucket, but we needed something to pre-heat a 55 gallon drum of water for use when making up a chemical that must be dissolved in relatively warm water. The heater gets the barrel of cold water heated well within a day, and that works for us. Note that we only use this to heat clean water! We then pump that warmed water into a different container where we mix the chemical in question. The unit appears to dissipate the stated 1000 Watts, based on the rate of temperature rise in our 55 gallons of water. Obviously, in a 5 gallon bucket, for which this unit is designed, the 5 gallons would be heated much more quickly. In any case, the thermostat works well, maintaining the barrel at the stated temperature range of around 110°F even if we leave it running for a long time. And this would be handy in a bucket as well, preventing the water from getting too hot, and maintaining it at that luke-warm temperature even if you walked off and forgot about it.I do advise removing this heater from water when you are not using it, however, because the aluminum begins to corrode very quickly, so it might not last very long if left in water constantly. This is common for aluminum exposed to water for long periods, and is to be expected. Still, buyers should be aware that this is probably not an item that you should just leave in water constantly. It's not a pond/stock-tank de-icer that you would leave in the tank/pond continuously. The design of the unit holds the heated area away from the bucket/barrel surfaces to prevent it from melting a plastic bucket. The spacers also allow for good convection of the water around the heater to let it transfer its heat to the water efficiently.

I would not recommend buying this product or anything from Farm Innovations based on my experience. Within a single use, the unit I received tripped the GFI outlet and now will not run more than a few minutes without tripping the outlet (I've never had a problem with this outlet). The heater still works, but I'm not going plug it into a standard outlet and risk shocking myself if I stick my hand in the water.I followed the setup instructions and then the troubleshooting instructions to make sure that I had done everything correctly.I have sent 3 emails over the last 72 hours and have not received any acknowledgement from Farm Innovations. I was willing to work with the company to get a replacement, but now I just want my money back.
