It's not the stiffest material so it does dip in the middle, I have a 40 gallong tank tho and anything smaller than that you might not experience that if I had to guess. It's easy ish to work with, cutting along the holes was easy and I just used an exact knife, cutting against the tunnels was very difficult tho I use heavy duty scissors and it didn't leave the cleanest edges. But you can fill the holes with something or we warmed the edges up and pressed them down. Overall very happy with my lid, pretty much the perfect thickness

I bought this to make lids for some of my fish aquariums. It has worked perfectly and it's really easy to cut to size. I use a utility knife and a square and it cuts very easily. I will be using it for future tanks because it still let's the light through with no problem.

Awesome low cost DIY aquarium lid! I'm setting up a community tank and started with kuhli loaches but they're known to be jumpers so I wanted to get a lid that was as tight as possible with minimal openings. This is the perfect lid! I cut mine down to size with a sturdy short blade utility knife (Milwaukee fastback) and it worked pretty well. Easy to do cutouts for air lines, wires and filter spouts. My cutting is not perfect (it's a little difficult to get perfectly straight cuts with a knife) but given the cost of getting a custom made lid that would essentially be an overpriced screen, I'll take this all day long! This also has the added benefit of reducing the amount of evaporation that's happening in my tank so I don't need to add water as often. If you want it to be absolutely perfect, I'd recommend using better tools than I did.

Used this got a DIY aquarium lid project off YouTube and it worked great. Those videos said it was easy to cut, which was not the case. Battled with scissors and an exacto knife for a while. Would recommend using a power tool. I was just too impatient to get a lid on to go out and buy one once it this came in. One piece was enough to cover my 75g Aqueon aquarium.

It still allows light to shine through, it was easy to cut.

Works perfectly for my fish tank and was easy to cut to fit with my battery powered dermal. I was able to make all the notches necessary for my fish with no problems plus it helps so much with evaporation control I don’t loose as much water now.

Too weak for the price.
