When an emergency strikes, it's important to have the right tool. The pushbutton signal horn from Falcon gives you peace of mind on the water. It sends an emergency rescue sound that will draw help when you need it most.

It is very loud. It sounds like a cruise ship horn,18 wheeler horn or something like that. I wear earplugs when I need to use it. This can make someone deaf if you blow it in their ear so don’t play around with it like that. It’s not a toy.

VERY loud. I have had a pileated woodpecker situation for 6 months--pecks very loudly every morning on my windows (NOT THE SIDING!!!). I've tried every deterrent recommended by professional ornithologists and he just doesn't care. They say it is abnormal rogue behavior and he is using the glass to create a loud hammering sound to claim his territory--did I mention I live in the woods? All I can do is scare him away by banging on the windows with a wooden spoon... which eventually broke... and so did the second one. I was tired of getting out of bed to scare him away so I use this air horn from bed. Yes it has a nice little spot on my bedside table. It scares him off for 5-10 minutes and I repeat... rinse and repeat... rinse and repeat. It often takes up to 5 blows to get him gone for the day, but at least I get to stay in bed. If only he weren't federally protected...But that is a very unique use for this. It works great--very loud! Only downside is the cost, when you're using it pretty often.

Having this is in lieu of having a gun for protection. Only trouble is that it is so loud - could easily cause hearing damage for my cats as well as myself and possibly my neighbors according to other reviews. But in a life or death situation, like if someone was trying to knockdown your door, this would apparently get rid of them. It can apparently be heard for miles . I think it is originally meant to be used by ships in the ocean so they don't run into each other.

I have a 20 year old son who thoroughly enjoys sleep. In fact, if sleeping were an Olympic sport, he would probably take the gold or silver medal every year they let him participate. What I don't have is a boat, partly because, as I mentioned, I have kids. But what I do have is a cat, which is almost as good as having a boat. Except not really. Now the cat sleeps in the downstairs living room, while my Olympic Sleeper son sleeps in his upstairs bedroom. To help my son with the Waking Up portion of his Olympic Sleeper training, I bought this air horn. I do use earplugs in my ears while deploying the noise from this device. I must warn you that it is extraordinarily loud. It is probably not intended to be used indoors. I tried to insert ear plugs into my Olympic Sleeper son's sleeping ears, but that did not go well. I also tried to insert ear plugs into my cat's ears and that went even worse. But what I can tell you that the vertical leap that is achieved by both my upstairs son and the downstairs cat, both of which begin the exercise asleep and fully horizontal, is something to behold. I've personally measured at least a good 18 inch height.I can't tell you that how I am using this device is recommended by the manufacturer, or even that it is safe. So kids, don't try this at home, and YMMV, and if you try this and something goes wrong with your particular Olympic Sleeping or Cat setup, don't blame me. Also, I highly recommend using ear plugs in anyone around, because this guy is LOUD.But I can tell you that I feel better about my life being able to deploy this little gem when the mood strikes me, and when my son needs help with the Waking Up portion of his Olympic Sleeping training. The Cat Vertical Leap From A Fully Horizontal Position While A Full 1200 Feet Away And On A Different Floor training was an accidental side effect that was discovered by my daughter, but it is just an added benefit for our family.

It serves its purpose well. The plastic horn is sturdier than most others. The one I have been using is a Wojo, purchased at the local auto supply store. The Wojo is louder and lower.in tone than the Falcon. It sometimes hurts my ears. I only use them outside, or with the window closed on my arm, with the horn outside. Because the Falcon horn is shorter, I am less likely to break it. You can buy refills on Amazon, but not at the auto store. For my purpose the Falcon is fine. I want to try other horns that Amazon has. I want to have one in every room...and a back-up for all of them. I will buy a Falcon again. It is made in the USA, too. (HUH?)I have this neighbor from hell who is tormenting me because I dared to buy the house that she wanted. She couldn't get a loan. The house sat, for sale, for 6 months before I saw it. She never came over to welcome me, as she just started her harassment 2 days after I moved in. We never spoke, and now, we never will. She's a massage person (cough, cough). For years now, she has had her friends, aka, johns, drive by the house honking horns, barking dogs hanging out the window, etc. It wasn't until I bought the first horn, that it suddenly got quieter around here. She still does it, but not nearly as much as she once did. Her adult son is now stalking me. The sheriff (who knows that I am armed) can't do anything until someone gets hurt. I have very little proof. He told me to get a security camera, which I know nothing about. That will stop them from trespassing and stealing my stuff. To buy a security camera, I will have to rely on the excellent vendors at Amazon to help me.In conclusion, if you have annoying neighbors, this horn pays for itself with the first blast. Most normal people will stop whatever nonsense that they are doing to you. If your neighbors are sociopaths, like mine, it WILL slow them down.
