Giving this 3 stars because, while it is functional, it cannot be used right out of the packaging. The raw wood components still had splinters from manufacturing, and required sanding prior to assembly. Also, the usable part of the split dowl is about 13", because the dowl is not split completely to the end and the 3" closest to the attached end do not compress enough to hold fabric without an additional "shim" of some sort.

I bought this frame thinking it would be helpful when I am stitching in my recliner. I found I did not like it at all. There were no assembly instructions at all but I was able to figure it out with a little consideration. The support frame was too wide to rest on my lap and not wide enough to rest on chair arms. It was difficult to set the sides of the frame to matching positions. The split rods meant the support frame was very snug on one end and sloppily loose on the other so it was too frustrating to use the support frame. Without the support frame, the scroll frame was very awkward to hold and use. I was not able to tighten the cloth sufficiently to work my project and the cloth kept coming out of the scroll rod. I gave up using this frame and returned to my hoop after struggling with it for only a couple of hours.

Will keep but...this was difficult to assemble because of poorly written instructions. Wood split when inserting bolt. Not hardwood. Cheap wood. Wi try to see if tauhht enough for stitching. The current pattern i have is too wide.

This comes with no assembly instructions and stumped a senior citizen. Also. it was poorly constructed. T here are small connecting pieces which were slightly splintered, not boding well for protacted use.I have no quarrel with the supplier. The product was delivered in a short time. In fact, I've had 2 tramsactions involvong Alice and both were satisfactory.
