This is a great product to have. The 12v outlets on our motorcycle is not hot, unless the key is on. With this unit, you can plug it directly into the trickle charger connection for the battery, and get power while bike is off. Great for charging phone, laptop if battery is low

The charger has a quick connect on it so you can connect it directly to your battery, or to an ignition connection to turn it off when you turn off the key. It uses the more modern USB-C connection and is PD rated so will fast charge most phones. It also has a built in light so that you can see that it is powered on.

I really like this USB outlet. It was really easy to install, I ran it under my tank right to the battery and secured it with a few zip ties. It then mounts really easy to the handle bars. The last USB outlet I had was stuck to the handle bar mounting stem with double sided tape, I was so glad to get rid of it when I got this one. When I saw that the outlet had an LED light around the socket I was worried that it would drain the batter when the bike was just sitting in my garage, but I then found out that the light is turned off when the door to the outlet is closed tight. There is a small button that is activated when the door is closed. If you need a way to charge your phone while riding I recommend that you check this one out!

Nothing like being on a long ride and your phone battery dies in unfamiliar territory! This little device helps prevent this by providing power to the phone or other USB device throughout the trip. The positives. It has a USB A connector making it universal with most devices. It also provides enough power to run the phone or other devices. It has an off switch built into the cover. Plus, it plugs into the standard battery port on the bike. The only complaint I have is how it attaches to the bike. The manufacturer plans for this to be affixed permanently or at least not removed regularly because it is attached with a ziptie.Overall, I like this device and recommend it for anyone planning on longer trios and rely on USB devices for power.

This review evaluates the “12V/3A USB-C PD Waterproof Motorcycle Phone Charger with LED Light and Automatic ON/Off Switch” made by EXTRACTME.The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging and all components were contained snugly in a bag. What’s in the bag: one (1) 12V/3A USB-C PD Waterproof Motorcycle Phone Charger, one (1) 5.2-foot SAE extension wire with positive fused lead, one (1) rubber mounting base, one (1) removable plastic zip-tie, and an instruction sheet.First impressions: Unobtrusive. Effective. Easy to install. This kit comes with everything that you need to add a 36W (5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A) USB-C PD charging port to the handle bar of your motorcycle, e-bike, ATV, snow machine, etc. The charger is made out of good quality rugged ABS plastic and can be installed on any 9V-24V DC electrical system. It fits on your 7/8” or 1” tubular handlebar that is typically found on most power sports equipment. The charger has a unique built-in illuminated switch that is activated when you flip up its water-resistant cover and is automatically shut off once you close it. The charger has built-in protection from short-circuiting, overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcharging. The overall length of the two-conductor electrical wire provided is a generous 6.2 feet which is more than enough to wire most powersport toys. Included is a 10A circular glass tube fuse on the positive lead as well as a detachable SAE connector after the one (1) foot mark. The product claims to be IP66 rated which by international standards means that an IP66 device will stay fully functional when sprayed with high-pressure (12.5mm) water jets at any angle while being subjected to 100 liters per minute of water volume with the pressure of 100 kPa at a distance of 3m for at least 3 minutes. I did not try this claim but the unit looks like it will survive normal use outdoors. Since I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program, I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. To determine long-term product durability, I intend to monitor this product over the next 12 months. Should anything change over this period, I will update this review accordinglyHow did this product perform? In one word – EXCELLENT! It literally installs in under 10 minutes with minimal tools and has all the hardware needed. It charged my iPhone 14 Pro to 50% in under 30 minutes as advertised.Cost-effectiveness and value: I was satisfied with the quality of this product; it works well and comes with all you need to install a 36W USB-C PD charging port to the handlebar of your power sport toy. At a current price of $23.99 plus a $2 off coupon, I feel that this is good value for the quality and amount delivered. In summary: The “12V/3A USB-C PD Waterproof Motorcycle Phone Charger with LED Light and Automatic ON/Off Switch” made by EXTRACTME is a quality product that works well and is fairly priced. I would recommend this product without reservation.Pros 👍:✔ Good fit and finish.✔ Made ABS plastic that is both heat and fire-resistant.✔ Compact form factor.✔ Comes with all you need to add a 36W (5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A) USB-C PD charging port to the handlebar of your power sport toy.✔ Unique illuminated ON/OFF switch built into the water-resistant flip-up cover.✔ Generous 6.2 feet of two-conductor wiring with U-Type connectors included.✔ Fused electrical protection (Max. 10A) included.✔ Built-in protection from short-circuiting, overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcharging.✔ IP66 environment rated.✔ Provides quick, safe, and efficient USB-C charging.✔ Fair price, good value.Cons👎:✘ None!Manufacturer Suggestions 🖐:✔ Include a few extra zip-ties for attaching the wire to the frame of the vehicle.

PROS:* The weather resistant design of the USB port is ingenious. It is basically a "garage door" that appears to securely shut close to keep the elements out. When you pull and open the door, power is enabled to the USB port. Conversely, closing the door disables power to the USB port.* When power is enabled to the USB port, a blue light illuminates it so you can see where it is in dark situations. This is convenient.* Design implementation is made of a decent plastic and is compact compared to traditional product offerings.* When the port is closed, it appears to be sealed by an o-ring gasket.* Standard SAE connectors are used with an inline fuse on the cabling between the USB port and the vehicle 12V power source (e.g. battery, power terminal block, etc).* Enough cabling is included to likely suffice use on most motorcycle vehicles.* Charging a mobile device was not a problem using this device.* Package includes understandable installation instructions (English).CONS:* The plastic/rubber-like handlebar base may not fit many motorcycle handlebars. It is an ugly/impractical stretch to mount on 1" diameter bars or thicker. 1/2" to 3/4" seems like the sweet diameter for this base mount.* No manufacturer's contact information is included in the product package.NOTES:* Cable quality is modest. Beware routing it under fuel tanks and over engine heat sources.SUMMARY:The magic seems to surround the implementation of the weather resistant shroud around the USB port. The implementation is not a feeble or fussy rubber cover. It is compact, durable enough and simple to use. You might, however, find yourself improvising a bit to mount the device on your vehicle.

It said that it would shut down if not in use and it is true. I accidentally forgot to close the lid after a ride and a few days later I noticed I had it was open. Turned the switch on and started no problems.
