Just received these. Construction looks durable, and stronger than basic paper hanging files. Expands to 1.5 inches which I then can insert three labelled letter size standard files. Will see how they last under load 🤔. Cross member is plastic not metal.

I stuff a lot of files into my handing folders, and inevitably they fail, usually when the little metal arms no longer fit snugly over the metal bars in the file cabinet. I bought these extra capacity hanging plastic folders hoping to find a solution. Already, I love them. I've read some mixed reviews about the file labeling portion of this product, but I'm not using those--I don't need them.These plastic hanging files are great because they can hold quite a few file folders. But most important, each hanging file has plastic tabs that can be adjusted to fit your file drawer. This plastic is more durable than the typical little metal tabs on traditional hanging file folders.So if you want to keep things in order and avoid the annoyance of traditional hanging file folders collapsing or the metal tabs failing, you need Nordon's smart solution. I love these and will be buying more.

These fit the bill for me but about 2 or 3 of them came adhered where I could not slide the outer "hooks" out far enough to hang them. That was a disappointment. If more were like that, I would have sent them back. Otherwise, they are good to hold thicker files.The company is giving me a full refund and I can keep the files, so I am changing the review to 5 stars. I believe the damaged files were done in manufacturing and most likely a rare occurrence.

Good hanging file folders. Seem durable, but time will tell.Wish the top adjusting hangers had a lock to prevent them from further extending.

Made with sturdy plastic, with hard plastic strips to support the bottoms/spines. A bonus feature is the retractable hangers, so they look like binders and you can take them out with you in a tote or bag, without the hangers snagging everywhere.Bought this specifically so I could group financial documents by x-year periods. So each of these hanging folders is now holding several years worth of documents. This made organizing so much easier for my current project. The folders are large enough to drop in all sorts of documents, I have one set up as a catch-all IN-tray, with the benefit of being out of sight, hanging in the cabinet and not on a desk.These seem to be made sturdy enough to last a life time. Would buy them in other colors too if available.

Love the sturdiness of these file holders, but unfortunately the adjustable holders slide off too easily.
