I'm glad I took the chance on this lot. Very happy with the pieces and selection that I got.Padauk, purpleheart, wenge, zebrawood, sapele, African mahogany, canary wood, curupay and iroko.The pieces were mostly ruff sawn and some too short to run through my planer without attaching to another board first but good looking once surfaced. I'd purchase again.

That I was ordering from same place that I previously ordered. Disappointed with two very thin end cuts that were broken and scattered in the box. Some of the pieces are thinner that .25 of an inch. Other pieces were quality and will make good pen blanks.

Great species and size variety. I make wands, so the price point is very attractive. I could make at least 15-20 wands out of a double order of this product.Someone else mentioned to order 2 at once, do it. I ordered single first, then a double. The double had much thicker pieces.As the title says, I will be making many more purchases.

I feel like I should open with saying something along the lines of keeping ones expectations in check anytime you order something that is essentially a mystery box. These are cut-offs, as stated. That being said, my reasonable expectations were delightfully surpassed! I received six different exotics, three of the pieces easily covering the $50 price tag, based off of current prices from other vendors. There was a huge chunk of padauk and purpleheart, two of my favorites, and a rather large piece of bloodwood. The smallest piece I got was still large enough to make a couple of pens or knife scales out of. Everything was cut nicely and no cracks, and all pieces Usable.

I liked the assortment and quality so much that I ordered 2 more boxes. Great quality and large pieces compared to other assortments I have purchased. Useable for turning bowls or Router type projects. It is an assortment. Very fine wood, but each piece is very different. Pay attention to the weight, this is not a huge amount. I bought 3 because 3 times the price for 3 times the quantity is well worth it. Way cheaper than the mainstream store prices.Second 2 boxes arrived as 1 box of 20 lbs of rather small Pieces, high priced wood but so small I think some buttwad sent me 20 lbs of his/ her scrap. Not going to buy again. Wow, really?

This is by far the best selection of exotic wood cutoffs that I have found. Each piece has a typed label with the species name, so you know what you are getting. I always get a good variety of true exotics, and every order is mostly different. All pieces are planed on both faces, and sometimes jointed on one edge. The pieces are also completely usable with no defects and workable length and width. I have yet to get an order with unusable small scraps, knots, checks or splits. My last order contained Cabreva, Canarywood, Jatoba, Etimoe, Sipo, and Okume. I have gotten a wide variety from this supplier including Purpleheart, Paduk, Zebrawood, Patagonia Rosewood, and Peruvian Walnut. This is a great selection for small projects, knife & tool handles, accent pieces and inlays.

This box of cutoffs definitely had some nice pieces in it. Mine had some zebra wood, purple heart, a couple pieces of black walnut, a piece of what I think is cocobolo, and several more that I can't identify. I wish they'd labeled them, but i can't argue that they don't look good. They'll work well for a variety of small projects i have, and were reasonably priced. I definitely would have paid a lot more if i had been looking for specific woods a piece at a time, so solid savings to be had.

I read the reviews and knew that it would be hit or miss but at worst I would get some woods that I hadn't used before and would see what I got before deciding what I would do with it.When I opened the box I was delighted with what I received. All of the woods were marked. I received a block of beautiful figured lacewood 6x5x2 inches which I made into a beautiful bandsaw box for my daughter's birthday. I also received 6 other pieces varying from 9-11" long. 3.75-5" wide, and all at least 1 inch thick. The woods are Iroko, Coyote, Cunaru, Monterillo, and 2 pieces of Canarywood. The Monterillo and Canarywood really have beautiful grain.Aside from the bandsaw box I have not decided what I will do with the rest of the wood. Perhaps jewelry boxes, accent pieces, maybe a spoon. Really a nice selection that gives me options.
