It hasn't even been a week since attempting to use this for my aroid potting mix. I used this for one plant only so far. I felt like the plant was acting weird so I dug around in the pot and discovered MOLD on some of the husk pieces. I bought two bricks but only used one. There was no mold in the brick at all so I'm not sure what happened. Also, my brick is mainly hard pieces of husk and lots of long fibers. Not very many chunks in mine which isn't very good for what I'm using it for. My plant now had root rot after using this. I'm so sad.

Great value for the amount of substrate you get, and its easy to setup, just add water. Reccomended to add in a container first before adding the water😅

So i ordered this for my jumping spider enclosure floor... i thought i could just use a little corner of the brick since the enclosure is small. I didn't realize that you have to soak the whole brick in water for 30 minutes to make it absorb the moisture and loosen up. So long story short... if you're using this substrate for something bigger than a jumping spider that has a big tank or enclosure; this product would be excellent! But i wouldn't recommend using for small projects lol. It still came out nice though (my spider enclosure). Just alot of work for such a small space.Ps- update: the substrate is excellent at holding moisture !!

I have a large collection of Hoyas and while I've used orchid bark in my substrate for years, I have come to prefer coco husk much more, as it's easier to shred, more light weight, and airy. I combine it with a small amount of potting soil, perlite and charcoal for a perfect mix. I got the 7.2 bag, NOT the compressed packaging. The bag came packed full to the top, so it will last me a very long time. It's clean, with no smell, it's easy to shred into small pieces and there are no random rocks or sticks like I often find with orchid bark mixes. It's a great value and I recommend.

Use for a dry layer on top of the bricks that are soaked for my ball python viv. Holds moisture for humidity well. There are cheaper versions but this is triple heat treated so a no brainer!

Lo estoy usando para hacer más liviano el sustrato de mis plantas ya que es una solución bastante económica en comparación con otras más específicas. En combinación con fibra de coco, compost y perlita tengo una tierra que mis plantas agradecen.

Love this brand and most of what it has to offer. These affordable bricks really go a long ways. I've used these bricks for several of my reptiles. Holds moisture and easy cleaning.
