This is an okay toolset. The hanger removal is fine -- not too much to that. The cutter, well, the cutter required a lot of hand grip strength to work. So I'd say if you're doing it every now and then, absolutely. If you want to start up work as a muffler mechanic...well...spend a few more dollars.

I was changing my exhaust and needed to make a cut with this tool and it well over an hour to get the cut done. The exhaust hanger remover tool was great though. I’d say get the remover tool and buy a metal saw instead. It will make cutting easier.

I ordered this to do some exhaust work and replacement on my hot rod. Getting your exhaust fixed up can be really expensive depending on where you live and many exhaust shops do not want to work on track vehicles that have no emissions devices, especially in populated areas.These tools are decent but in no way are they long term use tools. I would consider the pipe/tube cutter to be a one or two job tool. I just needed it for four cuts. I was able to get the job done fairly easily but it was definitely harder to make my last cut. The blades were less sharp by that point and all the force on the handles really loosened the tool up making it a little bit harder to keep the cutting chain straight. The exhaust hanger pliers are sufficient, but it is easy to see that the parts are not contiguous pieces, the rod and backing plate are simply welded on. Both tools are riveted together at the handles and axis.These are decent for a budget set, but if you work with exhaust systems for a living, I would look for something of a higher quality.
