Not a matte silver color, more of a Champagne color, bordering on a matte gold color. Not a deal breaker since I love the color! Not too sturdy but will work for me since. I'm hanging lightweight curtains. Just putting it out there for the must have silver, or use for heavy drapes purchases. I placed a matte silver color item next to the "Matte silver" rods I received.

Rods are painted, silver color scratched off in several places, ball at the end of one side was cracked off.

I didn’t unbox this until two months after delivery as I was doing a renovation and it sat in the garage until I needed to hang it. The rod was double boxed which had clearly been opened and resealed. The rod itself has noticeable scratches and only came with two of the three brackets which is frustrating as you can imagine. And now that my return window is closed I have to find alternative brackets that will fit the dimensions of the rod. Thumbs down.
