These were used as a component of a spacial puzzle which would not have been possible without them. I can't describe it here, but it has two ways to be solved depending on how any one person's mind sees it. It is intended as a challenge to solve and can be extremely easy to solve or more elaborate. These rings were perfect for the use intended.
