How is it supposed to power a PoE camera when it can't even power itself after charging all night? It only turns on when the power adapter is plugged in. And this is a replacement item for the last one that had the same problem.To add insult to injury, Amazon recommends that you contact the manufacturer for tech support, but upon doing so, the manufacturer states that this is not their product and this Amazon seller is selling this product under their name. So basically, no tech support whatsoever.I really wanted this item to work because we do a lot of IPC, SDI, and analog HD system deployments, but when it doesn't turn on without being connected to power, it's absolute junk.Update: before returning the second unit, I decided to skim over the manual to see if I am missing something. Sure enough, there was a tab over the battery that prevented it from charging. Nowhere on the box or any quick-start guide does it mention this. I'm surprised that more people haven't complained.And why does the manual insist that it only be charged while attended? That sounds like a high risk of fire or explosion.

I've been installing a ton of cameras, and let me tell you, this thing saves a ton of time! It has a lot of features, but most importantly, can provide poe power to a camera, as well as a DHCP address so you can view it. This helps with figuring out a good place for a camera, before even drilling a hole.It can do wire testing, although that can be cumbersome at times. It seems to have the ability to do a lot more but, thus far, I haven't explored everything. Not sure about longevity as I've only had it about a week, but I will update in a few months.

I really like this tester. I've used this thing practically everyday and performs as needed. The cost of this device compared to other spot monitors was a huge selling point for me and it's worked out in my favor.

We bought this device for use at our church. It has helped me diagnose and see the video coming from the cameras both locally and at our media center. This device enabled me to troubleshoot issues that I was having with HDMI and SDI signals going into our video switch and we now have all working! Great simple to use device for our needs. Thank you!

Awesome device, where has this been all my years of installing cameras? Having this device made troubleshooting, positioning, and aiming so much easier. No more up-and-down ladders this eliminated all of that. This device is having a second guy onsite with you that you don't have to pay it's paying you!!!.

Had to pick up one of these for an install job I had. 127 cameras at a big site. I've tried a couple other monitors, and they worked, but on some, you had to spend time trying to get through their convoluted setup configurations, or the display resolution wasn't high enough, so you'd lose part of the image and have to guess if you were on point or not. this monitor worked out of the box, has most of the addons you need (though admittedly, most cameras come with needed accessories anyway). Some sort of screen protector would be nice too, though I haven't found one that fits yet.
