Through trial and error I learned that the slip connection on my driveshaft rusted and locked up which caused the CV joint to fail. This was a good replacement for the CV joint, but I later had to replace the whole thing after I figured out my real problem.

2001 dakota. Had to press out the drive shaft with a hydraulic press. Then for best results: load up CV with hi stick red grease after the cv is mounted on the splines. spin the CV for maximum penetration. put coating of grease on both insides of the case for condensation. get nuts for the original bolts and tighten the nuts around the sheet metal housing to seal it for a professional look. remove nuts and bolts it will stay together and install. be careful of snap ring groove....should last hopefully...

I replaced the cv joint on my 04 Dakota front drive shaft, this fit great and was easy fix at a reasonable price, my only complaint is the package was not sealed good and if the FedEx driver had not paid attention could have lost some of the hardware.
